One more from my last trip to Las Vegas for the annual conference. Right after the sessions ended, I took the rental and headed northeast towards Bryce Canyon, Utah. The really scenic part starts once you get off I-15 and start driving east through the Red Canyon. The rocks become bright red, as the name of the canyon suggests. As you follow route 12 through Dixie National Forest, there are 2 arches that I believe make a very picturesque scenery with their surroundings. I had to stop and take a shot of one of them as the way red and green blend in together in harmony is such a beautiful sight.

Just watching around...
October 2024 I visited Ushuaia, in Argentina, forthe second time. This time I went to watch the pinguins at Isla Martillo. It was amazing tp see those exotic birds in their environment.

The passengers standing on Rugby's platform 2, patiently waiting the arrival of their train to Birmingham, almost feel compelled to watch the action across on platform 1.
To be fair, it's worth watching too as Freightliner 'Shed' 66561, hauling the 10.59am New Bilton Cemex - Willesden Euroterminal (4R98) discharged aggregate wagons, heads towards London on what is generally a Down direction platform. The reason being, New Bilton Cemex is located just a couple of blocks north off this line, so trains leaving the facility run 'wrong direction' for a few blocks before crossing over to the Up line through Northampton.
Timing was quite fortuitous - 15 seconds later the Birmingham train rolled in effectively killing the shot.

The Macro Monday theme for 7/24 is buckle. (The admin said we could use a toggle and I extrapolated that to include a clasp, also.) We have a dearth of typical belts, so I went hunting for stand-ins. There are a few possibilities so I’ll dither, naturally.
This may be the clearest example of a “buckle” in the collection of possibilities bc without it, the watch wouldn’t stay on your wrist!
When we moved four years ago, people told us we would get tired of the deer who wander our neighborhood. I am still in awe when I see them. I found this one watching the sunset last night in the neighbors yard.
The Female Red-tailed Hawk that I encountered keeps watch over the area for anything that moves and would make a tasty meal.

Norah Head looking east at sunset.
I was very conscious of the waves crashing behind me while I was photographing the sunset over Norah Head lighthouse. As I was turning frequently, I noticed the sky start lighting up behind me as well.
I decided to turn around and take advantage of it. Just as well - as I turned around the largest wave yet got closer than any before it.
Watching my back paid off in more ways that one.
A fully jeweled Burlington gold watch. Circa 1910.
A watch with at least 17 jewels is often called a fully jeweled watch. This means that it uses jewel (usually ruby) bearings in the mechanical movement from the balance wheel all the way to the center wheel pivot.
Time does not end when your watch stops.

The Stunning Frogmore...Try a visit :)
I loved spending sometime at Frogmore today. Reflecting on my year. Being on the East Coast, coming home to my mountains.. Spending so much time in the mountains.
Take me home.. really hits me. I think some of the biggest gifts we can give ourselves is Clarity of who we are, Graciousness of how we treat people, Kindness to everyone, we never know what struggles people have.

We have some wonderful rough seas on the South coast of the UK...people tend to forget the power behind the waves. The temptation is always to get as close as possible to that wonderful raw energy...especially when you have a camera in your hands!!

I have been hanging out in the Cloud lakes sim with the new bladerunner theme and so in awe of this creators talent. What I find so amazing is the creator's ability to produce time after time incredible laid out builds. The materials used in some of the buildings will be the subject for a new batch of images as soon as I can work out a great outfit.
