The definition of Wander is to walk around slowly in a relaxed way or without any clear purpose or direction. That sort of sums up my life!

Aurora wanders if she should tell her little girls the truth about were they are from and about how they are part Angel and part Fairy. See Once upon a time in a land far far away lived a very hansom fairy Prince and win it came time to pick a bride he could not for the one he loved way not a fairy at all... So he lift in search of his true love and happened upon a Angel who's beauty was only trumped by her heart and he fell madly in love with her. Seeing that they wore both from very different worlds that would not understand their love they made a new home with in the clouds were they could raise their lovely children in peace.
“She always had that about her, that look of otherness, of eyes that see things much too far, and of thoughts that wander off the edge of the world.”
― Joanne Harris

This month, I took Barney out for a wander around the local city of Hereford one evening. We made sure to visit the lovely cathedral, to see the "Weeping Window" there, which is on display for just a few weeks. The artwork, created to mark World War I, was really beautiful - created with ceramic poppies. We were lucky to visit at a fairly quiet time...
The area wasn't totally deserted though - what you can't see here, were the other photographers nearby, who'd set up cameras on tripods & were standing around waiting for sunset. There were also a couple of men who I think were on duty, watching to make sure no-one stepped over the low barriers & disturbed the poppies. Our small audience - esp the photographers, were delighted by Barney, particularly when he did a couple of tricks for the camera - waving & "sit pretty". I could hear oohs & ahhs, exclamations of "What a lovely dog", "How sweet!"... "Isn't he good?!".
Barney was being very good, bless him, but knowing we were being observed added a little urgency to taking pictures! The auto-focus on my lens isn't working - I have to fiddle about to manually focus & Barney has limited patience for posing. I had visions of him deciding he'd been "good" long enough & trotting off to introduce himself to his admirers - or more embarrassingly, going to play amongst the poppies. I would have to chase him, followed by security guards & of course, it would all be caught on camera by the photographers! He's looking rather serious here but Barney enjoyed his extra brief photo-shoot & judging from how he wagged his tail at people as we left, he really liked being called a "good dog" by everyone ;-)
Went on one of Alistair's Summer Wanders on Thursday with the Camera Club. We went to Glasgow Green. Good turn out and nice to be able to do it out without having to put on the brown corduroys (it can be quite intimidating you know!!) Sorry I wasn't able to stay for a beer. Looked a nice place to finish. Cheers Alistair!!
Traveling can be both exhilarating and exhausting. Mike and I always go into any adventure knowing that it most likely won’t be that ideal scenario we hope for. Even with the road blocks we’ve encountered whenever we explore, it’s still something we don’t want to give up. The frustrations only make the good parts that much sweeter!

The eye wanders to the distant horizon over the fertile farmland of the Piana del Fucino. In spring, it still looks a little bizarre against the panorama of majestic mountain peaks. It is hard to imagine that until the 19th century, this gigantic plain was Lake Fucino, the third largest in Italy after Lake Garda and Lake Trasimeno In order to create farmland, Lake Fucino was drained in 1875 - a plan that had already been made in the time of Julius Caesar.
Ophelia by Elinor Wylie
My locks are shorn for sorrow
Of love which may not be;
Tomorrow and tomorrow
Are plotting cruelty.
The winter wind tangles
These ringlets half-grown,
The sun sprays with spangles
And rays like his own.
Oh, quieter and colder
Is the stream; he will wait;
When my curls touch my shoulder
He will comb them straight.
