I have no idea why, but I really wanted to photograph walnuts today. Nothing much more to say.
Did you know that cows moo in regional accents?
One of the four squirrels I met on Friday, with its favourite snack.
It was funny to watch how they didn't want to touch the ones that birds, who also loved walnuts, had touched.

The sun is out as a quartet of RCPE SD40-2s lead MMNAU past an abandoned cabover International outside of Walnut Grove, Minnesota heading west towards South Dakota.
Random shot tonight - my mum was showing the twins how to crack nuts and see what was inside. I rather liked the textures so I stole a few for a practise still life shot. Not sure about it to be honest, but it's getting late now so it will do.
Goal for next week is to plan my shots better and have a clearer idea of what I want to achieve. I bought some indoor sparklers that I was going to try out but I feared I might set off the smoke alarm and wake the kids!

The Walnut Fire is winding its way around the quartz monzonite spheres of the Little Dragoons; precariously balanced rocks that were formed 50 million years ago.
The modern noises of the highway went mute and sounds of ancient drums and ritual filled the night. One can only imagine the Apache tribes who once lived here.

The walnut shaped ceiling of 993 year old Sun temple is a sheer treat to behold. Supported on octagonally arranged pillars which are richly and intricately engraved with the mythological stories and religious life-cycles of Hinduism.
