I am trying a new clasp idea with this wallet--this clasp is replaceable should the elasticity of the ponytail holder give out.

I found this at Target for $6 or something. I thought it was a steal and would work well as my work wallet. It's bigger than I was looking for, but it's far greater than the stupid ID holder I originally had.

The ID holders that theoretically could have worked (and were $4) were very loose and I didn't trust them holding my bus card (which has a fat-wad on it) or either of my work IDs.

Also, it's pink and has skulls.

This project explores personal identity through personal belongings. Wallets from friends, family and strangers are going to be drawn and documented. The idea is to create an identity system without faces or names, but through possessions. What do the things a person carries around say about them? This is one of my first wallets, hopefully there will be many more to come.

Multiple credit card slots, 2 long pockets for money, and extra pockets for business cards, receipts, and whatever else you want to tuck in there. Velcro closure. Made with coordinating Amy Butler fabrics in morning glory with cherry polka dots. Matching blue ric-rac trim adds a little flair to this hard-working wallet.

Can also be used alone as a clutch!

Such a happy pattern. It makes me feel light and sunny just looking at it.

I had intended to make this wallet as a demo while the students made their own wallets the day I taught the wallet class, but decided it would be best if I focused on helping the others. So, I made this wallet the next day. I love the way it looks. I made another one Sunday. And I will make at least one more, I think. One to sell, one to keep and one to give away. :-)

I finished it up last Tuesday in the sewing class I'm taking. Designed to tackle zippers. I did alright, only having to rip out one side of one zipper. And I blame that on the foot for misguiding me!

Wallet/changepurse for my son. He's newly earning/spending money and needed a way to carry it around. He chose the fabrics. The zipper and clasp were in my stash too and this went together pretty quick despite me making it up as I went along. Satisfying! (Not clothes, so I guess it technically breaks the rules of KCWC, but it's for my boy, so it works for me).
