It wasn't entirely moody in Macau! Here's an image to break away from the pattern of the two previous postings!

This is Senado Square, the historical centre of Macau. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site which has been beautifully preserved. According to the local residents, Macau has two "centres" -- the original one here created by the Portuguese settlers and the Chinese centre located a few blocks away!

The Portuguese architecture in Senado Square is a sight to be seen. There are beautiful buildings erected during the Portuguese colonial era that showcase bright, eye-catching, pastel exteriors and very charming and decorative interiors. Many of these buildings are now occupied by retailers, vendors, and restaurants, both international chains and locally owned. Half of the entire building to the right is McDonald's -- probably the prettiest one I've seen from the exterior!

"Harajuku Girls" generally refers to teenagers in the Harajuku area who dress in any of the local fashions, the most famous of which are Gothic Lolita (Goth Loli), Kogal, Gyaru, and Ganguro. Taken from the English words 'costume' and 'play', cosplay refers to dressing up in a costume and role-playing as a character, often from anime, manga, bands, or movies.

The term also has an erotic side - some people cosplay with French maid, school girl, and various kinds of S&M outfits in intimate roleplay.

The cosplayers who gather in Harajuku are called the Cosplay Tribe, kosupure zoku in Japanese, and have begun to rival nearby landmarks as one of the area's top tourist attractions.

Beggars are an easy target for street photography and something I normally don't "do". However - this sincerely humble apporach, in front of a jewelers store on the wide sidewalk of Champs-Élysées... it was visually irresistible - and completely anonymous. A view that made me think again about the moral dilemmas on begging, whether to share your riches ...or if you only ecourage unnecessary begging.

Last day of the trip.... a travel report from France in images posted on the run - to preserve the fun .... See you all soon - forgive me for spending little time on revisits for now...

LifeStyle Sports store on Grafton Street, Dublin, has been boarded up for quite a while now due to COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions in Ireland. What is becoming a common sight around Dublin city centre is the use of these doorways by the homeless communities as a place to pitch a tent to get some shelter from the elements.

What people do on Friday.

The best three shots each week, shot from the HIP, on a Friday.

Inspired by John Brack’s “Collins St., 5pm” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collins_St.,_5_pm the rules are simple;

•Do not use the view finder or LCD screen when taking aim; ‘shoot from the hip’

•Do not review, delete etc. until home.

•Only post photos taken on a Friday.

Though not a rule, unofficially this is a project about/featuring people; perhaps occasionally an animal. It is after all about the day, Friday and our relationship with the end of the (western), working week.

The homeless often get moved on from one place to the next by the authorities, the council probably don't see them as in keeping with the image of Oxford that they would like the hoards of tourists to see.

The O’Connell Tower in Glasnevin Cemetery was built to commemorate the life of one of Ireland’s greatest historical figures, Daniel O’Connell. He was born in 1775 in Co. Kerry, he went on to become the foremost political leader of the Catholic majority in Ireland throughout the first half of the 19th Century. He was the key figure in the movement for Catholic Emancipation, which was introduced in 1829 and removed many of the restrictions imposed on Catholics by the Penal Laws and other legal measures.

He became known as The Liberator, and continued to represent the people of Ireland as an M.P. at Westminster and as an advocate for a separate Irish Parliament in Dublin. He became one of the foremost opponents of slavery in the U.S. and elsewhere, and his key principle was that such injustice and oppression should be challenged only through peaceful and non-violent means.

British Prime Minister William Gladstone called him the greatest popular leader the world had ever seen, and he was later quoted as an inspiration by many global leaders including Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

Following his death in Italy in 1847, he was initially buried in the O’Connell Circle in Glasnevin Cemetery, and in 1855, the O’Connell Tower was completed. Later, in 1869, Daniel O’Connell’s remains were reinterred in an ornate crypt at the base of the tower.

The tower measures an impressive 180 feet or 55 metres and is still one of the highest structures in Dublin. Construction took 16 months, and the cost of creating the tower came to £18,000, or approximately €15 million in today’s money.

Billy and I were shooting around the High Museum/SCAD campus in Atlanta when one of the students walked by while carrying her work.

I wish Y'all could have seen this in person. So there we were, standing with our cameras, and I spot this muscular, bikini-clad, almost life-sized (by Linda Hunt standards) woman floating by. It looked like some kind of mystical, golden-slippered palanquin. We looked at each other, busted out laughing, and went trotting after her for a photo.

My wife and I were back at the beach today and this guy walked passed us singing at the top of his voice - in his wonderful operatic voice! I kid you not and he was singing from La Traviata and he's reading from the actual sheet music - as evidenced by the 2nd shot when I caught him on the way back along the beach!

I'm not sure if you can view the 2nd shot when viewing from Flickr's "new experience."

He was very noisy but he does have a wonderful voice!

Thanks, in advance, to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.
