Whenever I take pictures on a walk, someone always stops and asks me what I am doing so...I take the picture and show it to them, they always say the same thing...gee I never noticed that, it is really pretty... this year, give your child a camera, nothing expensive, just something to teach them to see the world, the real world

If you enlarge this photo you'll see a man walking by on the levee bank in front of the Boags Brewery.
Here I'm shooting directly into the setting winter sun. The scene grabbed my attention immediately and I was able to shoot just as the young lady walked equidistant between the two trees on the pathway with the sun right above her. It is best to enlarge this one and look around.
original painting Walk On By by Artist Ruth Hunter; medium: oil and cold wax on panel; artwork size: 36x36"
Tracking a young buck white-tail deer at pond beyond home this morning when great blue heron walks by going the other direction. was an interesting interaction: deer & bird.
If you see me walking down the street
And I start to cry each time we meet
Walk on by, walk on by
Make believe that you don't see the tears
Oh just let me grieve
In private 'cause each time I see you
I break down and cry
Oh baby, walk on by
Mmm
I just can't get over losing you
So if I seem broken in two
Please walk on by, walk on by
Foolish pride is all that I have left...

Tal vez lo recuerden por haber ganado un Oscar por la música de Shaft, y ser la voz del Chef de South Park...

Folks enjoying the autumnal colors on a glorious fall day in Boston's Public Garden.
Not to be confused with Walk on By (or Walk on By).
UPDATE: This made Explore for October 24. Thanks Flickr! Always an honor.
This is the Northcraft house, which you'll be seeing more of as it is close and I want to get snow shots.
This image is processed differently and seems to project the feeling that if you were a weary passerby seeking shelter...you probably would want wait until the next farmhouse.
Title of course was borrowed from the great Led Zeppelin and if interested, Tool's version could even be better.

I never like people in my photos. But a few minutes in the Seattle Art Museum changed my mind. Maybe being in the city for 5 days changed my mind. I still do not like to post photos of people without their permission, so I will remove their faces.

An old image from the archives ... way before I owned any fancy equipment.
Two songs came to mind as I worked on this image ... Treasure by the Cure with the lyrics:
She whispers
"please remember me
When I am gone from here"
and Walk on By. There is a great rendition on this song by Laura Nyro with
"If you see me walking down the street
And I start to cry each time we meet
Walk on by ... "
To all my contacts, apologies for not visiting lately ... I am taking some time away from here ... keep shooting great images and may your creative juices run wild!

While Levi’s mannequins preach the gospel of volume — “Baggy is Back” (and never looked worse?) — our man on Princes Street delivers a quiet rebuke in snug olive and grey.
He’s not buying into the denim delusion. Literally. He marches past the store with purpose, defiance in every thigh-flexing step. No stop. No side-eye. No interest.
Because let’s face it — baggy is all very well until it starts flapping like a mainsail in a mild breeze, obscuring the form and ruining the view.
It’s giving… confused cargo. Or worse: Dad Shorts 2.0.
Bring back the trim, the tapered, the tasteful tight.
Slim fit, we miss you. Mr Shorty clearly agrees.

A fantastic mural of Brendan Behan at Richmond Cottages, just off Summerhill Parade in the heart of Dublin's North inner city. Painted by the extremely talented Shane Sutton.

A common sight in the streets of Prague. A taxi driver told me that many of these "beggars" come from Romania and are in fact members of organized gangs. I only gave money to street musicians...
