hay algo tan vulnerable cuando uno se despierta

there's something almost vulnerable when waking up
They call it the "blue city", the streets, the houses, the buildings and the stores, all are painted with blue color. One of the best cities I visited in Morocco, I felt I was walking in a film studio because everything was just in the right place and the right color and atmosphere .
Kwara really made up for the few lion sightings we had in Khwai with a few small prides of lionesses with cubs.
This cub was with a relaxed pride of 2 females and seven cubs that were found in the late afternoon. We spent a little time with them. This guy was fun, I’m not sure if he had a thorn in his pad or it was just bothering him. Whatever it was I have a lovely sequence of shots with him pulling faces at his paw! Here I like to think that he’s playing cards!

Eager to escape the mundane I took myself for a long drive yesterday .. carelessly picking roads as I went. I drove past a patch of blue from a distance and made my way towards it and as if drawn by a curious force I managed to find myself as its edge. After climbing over a gate, I took myself on a little walk eyes scanning and ears pricked.. it's a bit cheeky I know but that only added to the tension. All of a sudden I was standing at the edge of a sea of soft blue flowing over the ground til as far as I could see. Unspoilt by man, pure nature. I understood why we have a love for fairies and mythical creatures. It's scenes like this surreal in their pureness. I lost myself there for a few hours.. threading carefully between the flowers.. reenergising.
I couldn't help but think about how we should preserve our natures and countryside. Be tough about deforestation and plant 2 trees if we remove 1. It terrifies me that one day we would have overpopulated so much that there will be no more places like this left. So, anyway that was yesterday's mini adventure. More photos to follow!

The man stands between life and death.
The man thinks,
The horse thinks,
The sheep thinks,
The cow thinks,
The dog thinks.
The fish doesn't think.
The fish is mute.
Expressionless.
The fish doesn't think,
Because the fish knows
(Emir Kusturica)
I love when the alarm clock is turned off and my body wakes according to its natural rhythms. That slowwwww emergence from dark into light .... a lazy stretch and a last snuggle under my cozy blankets before I start my day.
In this image I tried to capture the symbolism of the changing morning light with part of the image bright and the other part dark.
I also love looking for subliminal messages in images :)
I'm not sure what has gotten into me lately, but I've been waking up so early. Like way before my alarm goes off to wake me up for sunrise, even early enough where I could scramble myself some eggs for breakfest and still be on time to watch the sun... bit.ly/2jrtFSH

zamisli prohladno jutro
zbog kojeg se nisi morala buditi
jer nisi ni spavala
zamisli da si sretna jer imaš takvo jutro
da nekog vodiš na doručak koji čeka
i zamisli
da te smijem zagrliti kad si tužna
onako beskrajno
da popunim prazninu
zamisli da si ti mene prva primjetila
i da sad osjećaš sve što osjećam ja
zar ne bi
stajala u lokvi čekala da me ugledaš
u nekom od oblaka
zamisli da postoji savršen dan
i obećaj
da me nećeš tražiti

Back to reality today; Monday's are always a little tedious but today was fast paced and constant. Shrouded in meetings and must-do's, the day sped by.
I won't complain about a Monday speeding by quickly though, especially since it seems to set the tempo for the week.
If it keeps up at this pace, it'll be Friday in no time!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

This is one of the two Coyotes I photographed teasing a Badger, as some of you might recall from a recent upload. When the game ended, both coyotes curled up on the open prairie for a nap. I took the opportunity to stalk them with tripod and the 500 mm, duck-walking in a crouch, stopping often, using sagebrush as occasional cover. Anytime one of them stirred, I would freeze, and they were unaware of me until I was quite close.
When they finally noticed me and sat up, this was the response... not too concerned. I'd like to write more about this encounter but for some reason I feel like curling up for a nap on my living room floor.

Sunrise from Cabo San Juan Guía, at Tayrona National Natural Park, Santa Marta - Colombia. A trip with some friends, all of them were sleeping. I just woke up early with this outstanding landscape; I took my camera with no pressure, set the parameters and captured the view. It was such a peaceful moment while listening to the sea waves and waiting for the Sun to rise.
