While sleeping in my car in Hopedale, Ohio with photographer Tyler Denbow, Wheeling & Lake Erie job 591 had started their day around 2am with W&LE 1776, an SD40-2 painted in a special American Semiquincentennial scheme. Rattled awake by the locomotive’s RS5T, I grabbed this lowlight pan of the job rolling down past the Hopedale Crossover before reversing back into Hanna.
Heard some thunder so got out bed and managed to capture this at about 5am. The lightning was brighter than expected so had to play in photoshop a bit to recover the highlights.
A new day is calling.. Sleeping on the car has its perks. Sun rising next to the Hekla volcano in Southern Iceland.
Sunlight breaking through the tree cover and making a section of the ground steam.
Out and about on a bright winter’s morning – you really get the feel of things coming back to life.
Picture taken just off Mosquito Creek Trail, North Vancouver. It was one of those classic winter days – a low sun was trying to break through the mist, and shine through the tree branches.
