I cropped an earlier photo a lot just because I was bored and wanted to be a little artistic.....

This is inside the Brewing Market in Lafayette, Colorado.

So @digitalnative thought he can do the entire February with coffee pics. I don't know whether I can or not, but here's my first coffee picture, Dunkin' Donuts Cappuccino. Until I order my Flavia coffees and make my own Cappuccinos, I have to buy fancy drinks (once in a while). I didn't know that I was a coffee snob until two months ago. Thinking I'll save some bucks, I bought a container of Taster's Choice (gasp!) from BJ's. Yes, the big plastic container of instant coffee. I drank a week of it. I drank it, convincing my body that I'd get used to the taste...the taste I craved in High School....

What in the heck was I thinking?

The taste is blah with no distinct flavor. Hazelnut coffee flavor creamer is a MUST to help gulp it down. I drink this stuff because I need the caffeine, not for the taste! At this point, I need the caffeine patch like Dr. Krunkelhorn (Wilbur's Grandma in Meet the Robinsons).

I have a crazy crave for good nutty, perfectly roasted taste. I'll take a cup of smooth and sweet cup (yup, like it sweet~!)

So I'm learning that I can be a very particular about things in life like trite things as a cup of coffee. I guess it's like when you've experienced a great music performance live and then hear a mediocre performance, it the is excellence you miss. Or maybe it's like using an intuitive and easy-to-use tool and then find a similar tool that is clunky.

In both cases, you miss what is whole. The good. The "thing" that makes your life more complete and uncomplicated.

I want my teaching to be like that. Fresh, awakening and inspiring. So I'm learning. I'm learning to see my students. I'm learning to see who I am.

Can you smell it percolating?

Indeed I would have preferred to have the BCOL cowl up front (it trailed going west and coming back east) but I do enjoy the way the new numberboards show up in a glint shot such as this.

August 18, 2012.

It's sunday morning and nothing to do...

Heard some thunder so got out bed and managed to capture this at about 5am. The lightning was brighter than expected so had to play in photoshop a bit to recover the highlights.
