I was so focused on getting the sunrise the other morning, that I almost missed the glow off the buildings...just caught the last little bit of colour.

Samson on the canals at dawn. My fabulous friend Jeannette had a canal boat named Owlfred. She took us on a mission around the canals of the London. What fun!! Topped off with this amazing view over the canal the following morning. When this beautiful swan glided towards us I couldn't believe it.
Back in the old days when basic digital cameras had quite a delay between pushing the button and the shutter actually opening. I was so happy to capture this one.
Canal boats: what a wonderful way to travel. It was often hard to believe we were in the middle of a huge city.
Time to wake-up Mom and brothers and sisters....the day has arrived !

Wake up sunshine was the track by Chicago that first brought Susan and myself together, I'd never heard it and asked Sue if she wanted to come round to my cottage and we could listen to it.The rest is 42 wonderful years , so it's always a favourite track. I love waiting for the sunshine to wake up, especially when it's lighting up the waterfall on Temple Bay.

Wake up and smell the gardenias! Each year when they bloom, I am inspired to find a gardenia perfume. Went to smell a Gucci rendition on Friday. Like the others, it bore no resemblance to the exotic, thick fragrance of the flower. While sitting at my desk, I saw the early morning light skimming the top of the plant and went right out for a sniff and a photo.
The wake left by a fire department boat, Boston Harbor. I thought it looked like those minimalist desert photos you see now and then.
Ive recently been experimenting with the old, Russian made, Helios 44-2. Now its fungi season I was hoping to get a slightly dreamy effect and some wonderful bokeh that this old lens is renowned for.
The Helios 44-2 is a great little lens with some decent sharpness and great bokeh. It will flare when shooting into the sun compared to many modern lenses as can be seen in this image.
