Wheeling & Lake Erie's almost daily train #735 from Brewster to Carey is swinging onto CSX at New London (CP47) for the short scoot down to Greenwich where they get back on former AC&Y home rails. While it didn't exactly go according to plan June 17, 2020 was a pretty productive day. At first I was pleased that I had gotten decent shots of 4 different railroad, then I realized I can also add that there were no wide nose units photographed in a sunup to sundown day. A solid day of standard cabs. My first post from the day is the last shot of the day, taken after 8:00 PM after the sun had ducked under a growing cloud bank. Fun hanging with TC & TF most of the day and made good use of their updates & assistance.
Enough of those fancy birds from Florida -- we've got birds in Washington too. And it's an actual challenge photographing birds in Washington.
It's bright and sunny in Florida -- it's bright even when it's cloudy in Florida. Easy mode.
Here in Washington, taking pictures through the dim, gray-tinted light takes a little practice and a lot of ISO.

Sharp eyes have noticed that the numbering is reversed in the permalinks. This is because I used "Replace Image" for the first time on this project, and didn't know the difficulties until later.

Całkiem niedawno w 2020 roku na linii kolejowej 221 Olsztyn Gutkowo - Dobre Miasto można było sfotografować lokomotywy serii SU46. Po chwilowym postoju na stacji lokomotywa rozpocznie manewry i podstawi kontenery Laude na teren pobliskiego elewatora. Zdjęcie to już historia, linia 221 przechodzi modernizacje, a lokomotywa SU46-047 została zezłomowana szybko po zakończeniu świadectwa dopuszczenia do ruchu.

N&W SD35 1526 leads an Eastbound D&H freight that has just arrived on the West side of Hornell, NY on February 3, 1979. The train is stopped and the power is about to head down to the shops area for fuel. We were offered a ride by the crew, and rode in the UP unit down to the fuel racks and back. Good times back then.
