Once again, the morning temperatures are averaging in the mid to upper forties (I’ve already had two mornings in the high thirties), the sun is setting before 5 pm, t-shirts have given way to flannel, and the sycamores are shedding their leaves. Autumn has arrived in southern California!
Today I share a photograph that celebrates autumn. A brown, brittle, sycamore leaf placidly floats in a shaded section of the upper lake at Irvine Regional Park.
Make your day a great one!

It was overcast and rainy day at the Leivonmäki national park in Finland. Walked there for a good time and I saw nothing to photograph, until this. Just a lonely tree leaning towards the lake with sun shining through the clouds. Simple, but it works.
I seem to have been wearing black forever in empathy with the miserable weather we've had for so long. Today, I decided to go for bright Spring colours. Maybe, our weather will now follow suit.
G&W 46 and 879 pass the old NYC Peanut Line station in Caledonia, NY on a rainy October 1, 2011. We were at the Genesee Country Museum for the annual poultry show and I heard the horn of this train blowing at the Mumford crossing, so I grabbed my daughter Bethany's camera and ran over to P&L Jct. to look for it. It was at P&L and preparing to back down the line into downtown Caledonia. The station now serves as a barber shop.
