This is a crop of a small area of the original 110 film negative scan, so the grain is pretty chunky. Like in most of these urban street shots, I think the cars are some of the most interesting objects and give the view a sense of times gone by.

...Cette fleur

Plus jolie qu'un bouquet

Elle garde en secret

Tous mes rêves d'enfant

Et l'amour de mes parents

Et tous ces clairs matins

Faits d'heureux souvenirs lointains...

Rustbelt Reveries

A bug's life is substantially longer in the desert. Two generations of the VW Beetle have come and gone, but the original Beetle is a fairly common site in the Texas desert.

Standing in the street once again trying my hand at panning passing motorcycles with passengers.

Out of the blue a completely reconditioned marvel from the past appears in my viewfinder.

Well there was only one thing left to do, so I just kept the panning shot going with the bug.

Every once in awhile a pleasant memory from the past will jump right out and grab ya ..;-).

VW Bug.

My neighbour down the street owns this car. I saw it go by my house today so it runs!

Who doesn't love an old VW bug? Adorable in their prime and magestic in their decay.

This thing is the very definition of "ugly and proud".

I almost gave it up at some point, but the car is just too weird and way beyond original not to be worth a little effort. The thing I probably like most about this mutant is its mean and efficient... "logic".
