“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

I've not used The Hat in a while, so brought it out of the cupboard (not the closet - this isn't Brokeback Mountain :p) for another shot.

Still in lots of pain with the tooth today, but the dentist gave me a sort of temporary filling (until I can afford the proper work) and some anti-biotics to help take out the abcess. I hate toothache!

After our first mission to Wadi Ahmed area in the capital Sana'a in which we have seen vulnerable families and IDPs living there in a very bad condition.

We got back to that area again but this time with much more blankets in an attempt by monareliefye.org to help people there.

In our today's mission we could deliver 140 families blankets funded by an anonymous Kuwaiti donor.

Pictures here showing you the real situation of families there.

Facts about Wadi Ahmed area

Wadi Ahmed in the capital Sana'a is located in eastern Sana'a and it is the most populated area in the capital Sana'a.

This area is a full of many vulnerable families and IDPs, who fled from Sa'ada, Taiz and Hajjeh governorates to this area. Most families there are under the level of poverty line, they don't have enough food, or clean water and they don't have any kid of furniture such as beds or blankets, children there are in dire need for everything, they don't have clothes or shoes to wear as most pictures showing you the real situation of families there.

In brief, the Wadi Ahmed area is a full of diseases and most children there don't receive any kind of health care services or any kind of education. I have seen many disabled who living in a very bad situation.

Mona Relief's volunteers conducted a survey for most needy families and IDPs, when we could entered to most houses in that area we shocked for the situation of families there.

On February 15th , 2016, Mona Relief Yemen ground crew distributed 300 food aid packages to IDPs and vulnerable families living in Bani Hewat area of the capital Sana'a.

Despite the accident that happened to the car driving by the organization's CEO, the food distribution continued to help families who they are in dire need in Yemen.

Facts about Yemen

Two years of relentless conflict in Yemen have devastated the lives of millions of people. Yemen is now facing a protection and humanitarian crisis that is quickly engulfing a large part of its population. An alarming 18.8 million people - almost two thirds of the population - need some kind of humanitarian or protection support. Some 10.3 million are in acute need of assistance. This means they need aid to sustain their lives. This man-made disaster has been brutal on civilians. Currently, 17 million people are food insecure while a staggering seven million people do not know where their next meal is coming from and are at risk of famine. At least three million people have fled their homes, public services have broken down, less than half of the health centres are functional and medicine and equipment are limited. Access to safe water has become a major challenge and the lack of proper sanitation has increased the risk of communicable diseases. A child under the age of 5 dies every 10 minutes of preventable causes.
