Viennese election campaign poster of the far-right party FPÖ. The party's top candidate is Dominik Nepp. His family name means "rip-off" and it rhymes with "Depp", which means "idiot". Nomen est omen.

This was interesting to observe. Three bison tried in vain to shield a bison carcass from three coyotes. This went on for about 20 minutes but the coyotes were relentless and eventually the bison backed off and dispersed.

This is another MOC that I created exclusively for Blocks Magazine . You can find it in issue #18 together with a more detailed description and really fantastic Batman-vs.-Superman-MOCs from other builders.

In my opinion, they take the whole Superman and Batman theme too serious, therefore I wanted to build something lighthearted.

After being tired of fighting in Metropolis, Bruce and Clark continue to do so in Smallville, until they damage Kent’s barn and Martha Kent puts an end to the fight.

She allows the “boys” to settle their differences in a one-on-one game.

I know that I am a bit late to the party, but here is my take of the close encounter of Mars with the Pleiades open cluster.

I would have loved to shoot this as a deepscape from a dark sky location with some nice landscape in the foreground, but first I was clouded out and when it finally cleared, I had to fly the other day and was only able to shoot from my light polluted backyard.

Sometimes, you have to take what you can, even if it means to shoot a reflection nebula under a bortle 5 sky. Hope I will have better conditions in 17 years, when this encounter will happen again.

I blew up a suitcase.

But that's probably not enough info.

Briefly - Tannerite is a legal binary explosive used in reactive targets for long-range shooters. When its two components are mixed, it is still stable, only detonating if struck by an object moving at 2,000fps or faster.

The charge in this video is a half-pound, the standard-sized charge. I had shot at over a dozen Tannerite targets prior to this shot, and while the explosions were loud, they weren't all that impressive. So when my neighbor gave me an old suitcase he was throwing out and I got the brilliant idea to put a Tannerite charge in there, I thought that, at best, it would simply tear a big ragged hole in the suitcase or something.

Had I actually taken a physics course in college, I probably would have had a better understanding about explosions and the expansion of gases and such. Hell - I even got CLOSER because I didn't think it'd be that bad. As you can see, this went way beyond a ragged hole in the suitcase - the whole damned thing blowed up, smacking me and my friend Jose with debris.

This was actually incredibly stupid and not something I'd repeat - at least not at such close range. We really could have gotten hurt.

That said - it's still funny as hell and I can't stop laughing about it.

When you love the wilderness but you’re also ‘indoorsy’. Where do you fall on the spectrum?

This is a forced perspective shot with a small diorama sitting on a picnic table at Fort Rock State Park. Pure serendipity that the dirt on my dio matched the natural surrounding soil so well.
