Had to queue to vote.

The queue was very long but about halfway along some lady looked at our cards and told us we didn't need to queue at all and ushered us to a different table at the back.

All a bit strange but saved me about twenty minutes so all good.

Unless it was all a practical joke and they just threw my ballot paper in the bin once I'd left.

This is it,

black or old,

unlucky name or long list of meds,

inexperienced in politics or bad tempered to foreign issues,

ties to bad people or flip flop on beliefs,

one has a VP that's soaked in the corrupted government,

the other has a ditz.

ONe wants change, the other wants the Reagan years.

Babble babble, NOW JUST VOTE FOR WHAT YOU KNOW IS THE TRUTH!

A lot of people brought their kids in to be part of the process- what a great idea!

Tokio Hotel have sold approaching three million records & DVDs in Germany alone, making them the country’s most successful band ever, and have won a host of domestic and international awards, including last year’s VMA for Best New Artist and EMA for Headliner. They’re Germany’s youngest band to reach the top of the charts and they’re the highest-placing German act ever in France. This phenomenal band pride themselves on playing their instruments since they could walk, putting on great live shows and having positive things to say to fans their own age. Their latest album is called Humanoid.

I thought It was great-making it to early voting by 8:30AM. I arrived to find the biggest crowd I had ever seen-prior to Black Friday! So, I settled into the back of the line, thinking at least it's a cool morning by Florida standards. The hours wore on-by the time I reached the front of the Library bldg., it was nearly 11 AM-I was starting to cook. I hadn't prepared for a lengthy stay. I figured 2 -2 1/2 hours tops. It was a Carnival like atmosphere, as each affiliate for whichever seat shouted & handed out their portion of the Rainforest. I finally rounded the home stretch-the much sought after over-hang along the front of the Library. Along there, were tables and voting info from different candidates. Then I looked over to see Police officers walking over to one of them. When I got closer-I asked what happened. Apparently-Romney s' people called the Police because Obama's people were giving out Water??!! REALLY?????? All morning long there were people with wagons full of water, and people passing by with bags full of Granola bars, I had no idea they worked for Obama-but after cooking out there from 8:30AM-1PM I am grateful for the water and snack-I just can't believe someone thought that a Bottle of Water and a Granola Bar would swing the election-so much they called in the Police-or that the police had nothing better to do!!

From 1976, National Noid cover (for AZAPA). Needs better scan. The original was a ditto (ask your grandparents). Fine print details: "VOTE …or I'll Kill You!" Lists include "Voter List" "S--t List" and "Franz Liszt." Hard-to-read type in "DAILY PLINUT" includes "PLACE PHOTO HERE" "THE WINNAH!" "NATIONWIDE PANIC! RIOTS IN STREETS! SUICIDES! HYSTERIA!" and "LOSER." Some of this stuff, I can't read offhand. There's a little door with a mailbox on the voting booth. The volunteer has a book called "SMUT." Uncle Sam has some kind of button. Probably says something. What can I say? I was 19.

I Voted for Barack Obama.

'We have already proved that our votes count because we showed up in force for Obama his first year in office. So you know your vote matters. Voting is your right. Don’t let them suppress this one." Sherise Wilson

Sigma Upsilon Nu SL Sorority encourages voter registration and your participation in this year's election. The most basic right of a citizen in a democracy is the right to vote. Without this right, people can be easily ignored and even abused by their government. This, in fact, has happened to African American citizens and continues to happen with voter suppression. DON'T LET 2020 ELECTIONS COME & GO WITHOUT YOUR VOICE BEING HEARD.

You can see it's a pretty informal crowd here in the high school gymnasium. There's our little green ballot box

Yay!

She hasn't been able to work since March because of some health scares this year. She was a truck driver for years. Before March, she worked her whole life starting at age 13. Now she's having to use Medicaid and food stamps for the first time ever. Between her old health insurance and Medicaid, she still isn't able to cover all her health costs. It was really fun to spend an hour with her today. She didn't start voting until 1995. She said that before that, she didn't think her vote would matter. Now she takes it much more seriously.

So glad it is finally over. The hype and excitement will soon be over.

Very honored and privileged to exercise my right and responsibility for this election. Enough said.

I witnessed Kenya voting on their first consitution.

And I'll always remember it.

Mason took this pic. She found this button a long time ago in one of my drawers. She wears it with pride on her jean jacket (along with concert buttons and pins). To her it's cool, to me it's nostalgic. This is the lone remaining tangible evidence that I was involved in student government in college.

I vote because it's an important way to protect our rights to be different. When we vote, we fight for our freedom of expression and ideas.

I talk a lot about being who we are and celebrating it. None of that can happen for any of us unless we make our voices heard.

I'm voting with empathy for others and an accountability for our representatives. Let's really change things and celebrate all of us today!
