This building near the East River in Williamsburg, Brooklyn has its holiday lights aligned to the zeitgeist.
3-forms were given, one for the Tehran Council, one for a couple of places left over from last time of something and another for the Guardian Council.
The main form regarding the council was a taxing affair involving sifting through 1200 candidates and writing 4-digits codes in 5-digit boxes.

February 5: We had absentee ballots and filled them out last week--but I always like going to the polls, so we did the second best thing and took our absentee ballots to the polling place, good ol' Del Rey Oaks' city hall. The place was swarming with voters. Yay. Change has got to be a-comin'. I just hope it's good change. (It couldn't get much worse.)
On Wednesday, December 2, Sylvester Turner was joined by firefighters, community leaders and his own neighbors as he voted early at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center. You can vote early until the deadline on December 8. www.sylvesterturner.com/earlyvote
Most of the time I like Jack In the Box advertising. I cannot stand the food but I like the commericals. I am not sure I like this idea. I know it is a send up the general "don't blame me I voted for ..." bumpersticker. I have never been a fan of that political idea. There is something about this bumper sticker that is saying apathy is okay. I do not think that is a good way for a company to make money.
cant say both!

Always has. Always did.
My grand ancestors died to get the vote.
Before 1832 for poor men like me and somewhat later for women.
So vote.
Make a mark.
For any one you like.
History is made by those who turn up.
So turn up.
Make a mark.

Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney joined Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, fellow legislators, and advocates to announce a plan to seek a Constitutional Amendment that would allow Connecticut voters to cast their ballots prior to Election Day. “Throughout our history access to the ballot box has increased with progressive changes to our laws and Constitution,” said Senator Looney. “Connecticut should take the next step in expanding voter participation and enact early voting as so many other states have done. This expansion of enfranchisement will strengthen our democracy and encourage responsible citizenship.” (January 15, 2019)
365 Day 154. The message for today is go Vote.
This didn't come out as well as I was hoping, or in the form I had hoped. I kinda ran out of time and forgot some stuff, so I just did a quick light painting.

Before it was an antique store, this building was a pharmacy. It was used in the film "Grumpy Old Men", hence the name.
About an hour away at this point. People were sharing their stories about the storm, chatting amicably about Obama vs. Whatzisname, and pointing out various architectural landmarks along the route to the polling place.
my polling place was packed--yay! i wish i'd taken a photo in the main room. an aerial shot would have been great. it was a big circle in there. people lined up on one side to get their voting materials, booths along the other side of the room, a table in the middle with people sitting down voting at it, a table along the third side of the room. and a line in the other direction to deposit the votes on the fourth side. (plus an extra room where people sat on the floor to vote). and i ran into my housemate in line on the way out. we should vote more often.

Someone really wants people to vote. Too bad the system is still extremely fucked and voting won't really do much to change that.
