inside there was a guy arguing with the clerk on how he got registered as a Republican. it actually doesn't matter -- you can vote for anyone you want. but he was quite serious about it.
On Wednesday, December 2, Sylvester Turner was joined by firefighters, community leaders and his own neighbors as he voted early at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center. You can vote early until the deadline on December 8. www.sylvesterturner.com/earlyvote
In this election I am sick of two things, rhetoric with no real plan of action and a lack of accountability.
Vote for me if you want real solutions today! My platform is simple, solve problems.
Global Warming:
I think that greenhouse gas emissions are a huge national issue and we need to reduce emissions by using cleaner fuels, we know global warming is happening and is having a dramatic effect on our environment. Even though greenhouse gas emissions have federal interests in mind, actual reductions should be measured at states levels. What I propose is that Governors of each state are responsible for reducing their own states greenhouse gas emissions by 10% every 5 years. A failure to meet this performance requirement will result in that Governor being mauled by a starving polar bear on pay-per-view television with all proceeds going to help climate change research.
Homeless People:
I am sure that most people have been in large cities such as San Francisco that have a large homeless population and understood that this is a real problem. Many people without a roof over their heads living on streets that are unsafe and full of crime, it is a sad situation. My solution is that to require all illegal immigrants to house at least one homeless person, failure to do so will result in deportation. There are plenty of homes, why not use them?
Corporate Scandal:
The stock market and our economy has been ravaged by the greed of Wallstreet and short sighted thinking. Pure capitalism works when people think long term and work to better the rest of society, unfortunately that has not been the case. So stop this I think that executive pay should be tied to overall performance of the company, in other words executives get paid a percentage of the actual revenue generated during their tenure. Any form of payment that is received outside of that; above and beyond the set percentage will be met wit strict consequences; they will be forced to live in downtown Detroit for one year with a sign on the front of the house of how much money they had made during their tenure, how much they are worth and how much extra they recieved.
The Economy and Taxes:
One of the bigger issues that faces America is government irresponsibility with our currency. I firmly believe that taxing the rich more is a socialist idea and is something that we should not do. Why should people who work harder and have a stronger drive to achieve more be taxed more? I am sure now you are asking: “Where are you going to get your money from?” Easy.
The Paniagua plan is to place luxury taxes on items. If you make good money and you work hard you should not be penalized; but if you make good money and you want to be an a-hole in a Bentley Turbo with a fur coat like Sir-Mix-a-Lot, get ready to pay Uncle Sam. You want to buy a G-5? Pay the tax man. I call this my “OG Tax Initiative.”
for the colombian presidential elections, we decided to design a social poster to encourage a true and responsible vote.
A man casts his ballot just after work in Palo Alto. The electronic voting machine on the left was broken. One of five, which added to the hour long wait that made some turn their back on democracy.
Evan and Charlie, voting for their favorite Marvel character, near the end of the exhibit. They voted multiple times, so it probably wasn't very scientific. The monitor nearby showed that Spider-Man was at #1, with Black Panther pretty close. Everyone else was further behind.

This is the inaugural year for this contest which is sponsored by the Hawaii State Bar Association's Civic Education Committee, the Hawaii State Bar Foundation, in conjunction with the Hawaii Department of Education.
This year’s theme “2014 American Democracy and the Rule of Law: Every Vote Matters” is also the theme for the HSBA’s 2014 Law Day.
The calendar contest is the "kick-off" of a renewed effort on the part of the Hawaii Department of Education to bring awareness to the importance of exercising our civic responsibilities by registering to vote and voting.

That's what the hand held signs say. This is an advertisement for a local shopping mall. Notice how all the young women in the scene have the same face. Kinda creepy.

update day after the election:
SHOCKING that Donald Trump won.
Even more shocking is the fact that so many Americans voted for Trump believing that he will/can follow through with his promises.
VERY SCARY! Are we now going to see David Duke visiting at the White House???
There is a Doctor Who fan in Ballard. I mean, other than my household. Seems The Master might be running for Mayor in Seattle?

Yes, there are two paths you can go by.....
Heaven or Hell? Who knows?
But lets hope we have a good turnout, and we know whatever we choose we have a true majority decision.
In any language, it's important to make your voice heard! We vote by mail here in Oregon, and dropped off our ballots a week or two ago, which is a little less exciting than stepping into a voting booth. Certainly faster/easier, though.
Whatever your political idealogy, you owe it to your country and our forepeople to cast your vote and participate in democracy!
Jayne votes while Lucinda the dog is either terrorized or bored. As typical in the USA, there's no safe way for a pedestrian to vote in the town where I live - I have to walk out into the road when traffic is stopped by a light down the street. And it took a while to get a break, because people kept driving up to vote! I've got my Covid gray and my Covid pounds on, as well as my Star Wars t-shirt.
