Peratallada is one of those medieval villages that are worth a visit. It has incredible places, like these arcades on one of the sides of the Plaça de Les Voltes. The town is located in the province of Girona, in Catalonia. And it could be considered part of the Costa Brava.
If you feel like going to the beach , but you don't want to spend all day in the sun 🌞 either, a visit to Peratallada's cobbled streets can be a short trip to consider. In fact, all the area is full of medieval villages capable of making you feel like you have travelled to the Middle Ages!

Looking out to the radar antennae of the experimental Cobra Mist 'over the horizon' radar station on Orford Ness.
Tales abound from this facility, I'm told it worked, other information tells us it was plagued by problems and never fully operational. A lot of what happened remains secret. It's an eerie and forbidding place, which was flooded until recently. The skeletal trees attest to that, having been inundated under salt water. You half expect a Vulcan bomber to scream overhead, en route to some kind of doomsday mission, or maybe even a UFO might pop up in the sky (the whole area has had reported incidents over many years).
But nature is reclaiming the ness, birds roost in abandoned buildings, and unique breeds of hare and deer lope about lazily. It's the weirdest and possibly most interesting place I've ever shot at. Definitely not the easiest!
