Dat komt zo. ik ben aan het experimenteren met vloggen. Ben je positief. krijg je geen kijkers. Ga je wat uitleggen met kennis van zaken . Geen kijkers, misschien dat je zelfs een ban krijgt

 

Vloggen is overleven. Vloggen is stress. Dan moet je vechten. Kneiterhard. Het beste is Ten kostte van anderen. Volle bak er in. Niets ontziend. Hoe gruwelijker hoe beter. Dat is niet alleen voor Juice. Wat mag en niet mag. Niks mee te maken. Als beetje laffe hond heb je het dan achter de ellebogen en voor het geval dat een advocaat

 

Oei.. wat zeg ik nu allemaal. Lieve mensen.. dat trekt wel kijkcijfers. Vechten is wel een verdienmodel.

 

Vechten is ook een uitlaatklep. Met het warme weer. alle drukte stoom afblazen. Vaak op mij. Oke Oke ik snap mijn rol. Word het mij te veel. Sloop ik wel een bushokje.. Even alles er uit. Dat is aangekomen in Den Haag. Komt ineens mevrouw Zegerius in beeld. Onze lieve minister van Justitie . Helemaal boos. Boos op mij. Dat van die bushokjes. Vond ze zorgelijk. Nou mevrouw wat lief. De koffie is bruin hoor.

Without a doubt one of the more eventful years in recent memory, 2020 has certainly changed the world. People have been forced to reinvent themselves to adapt to new circumstances. Time and time again, something that I've grown accustomed to. With social distancing orders, lockdowns and quarantines in place, living within a bubble of sorts while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy through it all has been the name of the game. Fortunately I live in the northeast and a sense of taking this pandemic seriously wasn't a fuss. I had spent the entire summer returning to one of my happy places, New York Safety Track in Harpersfield, New York. The main straight is a designated air strip called Mountaintop Airport on any other day but when those with an addiction to speed show up it becomes a playground for those that are interested in converting fossil fuel into speed. For those that want to challenge the laws of physics and adhesion that live near NYC, there's no better place for it. Learning how to ride a motorbike fast while at the same time teaching others to do the same was something I didn't realize I could do. I spent my summer weekends coming up to this place.

 

Harpersfield is situated in a fairly remote part of Upstate New York between the Catskills and the Adirondacks so it's at elevation devoid of light pollution from major metropolitan areas. Like clockwork, you can spot the International Space Station fly over head. And during the summer months at astronomical twilight, the Milky Way says hello. To get a full day's worth of motorcycle riding, we make the trek to NYST the night before. If we leave Jersey early enough we could make the main gate before it closes. Otherwise you end up camping out in the truck to wait til morning. I'd also bring my gear to document the weekend. The Olympus for stills and the Lumix for vlogging.

 

This shot was the result of cracking open a 6-pack of SixPoint Crisp, remembering what time it was and how to find the Milky Way in the night sky at that time and telling your buddy that you have an epic profile pic idea if he could just sit still on top of his pick-up truck for 20 some-odd seconds. I think the Japanese have a word for it. It's called ikigai.

The IN-TENT-ion, (ahem, sorry) of this outing was to see this move,

neither of us were aware of the work going on here, nor of the artwork on P2, (not having been to Stoke since before Covid),

we had though, been to Longport, the destination of this move, however that was by car, personally, i much prefer the train travel, it makes for more of an experience, and obviously gives more opportunities to see more things, that are rail related.

 

There were several enthusiasts over a quite wide age range present, as there had been at Longport, which you couldn't fail to notice when passing through. and going by the number of posts on FB it had been a well observed move overall.

Two of the enthusiasts present, maybe best described as "young teens" created a conversation between myself and my mate, the youngsters had, "vlogging gear",

we went on to reminisce about our younger teen years, when a Camera, amongst our age group, was a rarity, the more normal things would have been a duffle bag, pencil and paper, (book and pen, if you could afford them) a few butties, (sandwiches) and maybe a bottle of corporation pop, (that's tap water to the uninitiated). ;-))) my how things have changed...

Shoot the messenger…

Any trip to Rye isn't really complete without a walk along Mermaid Street. A cobbled way with period architecture, guest houses and The Mermaid Inn, on the right. It's a very popular place to take pictures and I was dodging between quite a few people looking, vlogging, chatting...and waiting for the pub to open!

The street, at one stage, was an extremely poor area. The pub also had a variety of incarnations. Seems the cellar is 13th century, it was a pub in the 1600's...then wasn't by the mid 1700's..then became a pub again.

Taken with my Fujifilm X-T30 II camera and a XF18-55mm lens.

I've had the most fulfilling day today! This morning I eagerly challenged myself to photographing 5 concept ideas within a day, which of course, is only about 6 hours in the November daylight. Pfft.

 

It was super stimulating and setting the challenge made me realise how much I've actually been afraid of failing this year. I always grew up with a quiet confidence that I knew what I was doing. However this year all that changed and I grew to hurt myself by doubting everything that I loved and was good at. (All the creatives out there, you feel me?!)

 

The best part about photography though, is that every experience/shoot is completely different to any other. I THRIVE off this now. I'm constantly being fed something new and I'm always learning. So with that said, I'll trade all those failures in and pick myself up some brain bricks and cement and build my way to those fist pump moments.

 

This was my first concept of the day, it seems ages ago now.

I vlogged it all so I'll be posting it on my youtube channel very soon! (and find out if I managed to photographed all 5!!)

More recently, I have noticed a change in how I photograph. In the past, I would have been more inclined to take a number of images when out on a photo walk and then just scrap the ones I didn't like later on. However, these days I am taking much more time to find a composition that really works. This means that I am taking far fewer images in general but I think this is having a positive affect on my work. This is all a result of my choice to start vlogging. Having to film so much and use more cameras, it is slowing me down out in the field. This means my output will slow slightly as well, which is no bad thing. This image was taken on the coastline between Findochty and Buckie in Morayshire, Scotland.

I haven't had a proper camera (other than my point and shoot Canon SX610 that I use for vlogging), over the past few months. I used a Sony DSC H300, not meant for this kind of stuff at all.

 

Still, not so bad in terms of a result.

 

The Perseids weren't flying that much past 2 am where I was, clouds slowly moved in and humidity levels shot way up. The sky was nothing but texture. It's been a hot and humid summer in Buffalo, heat indexes at 100 degrees, drought for the past 3 months, more brutal than usual.

 

It was fun to hang out and relax again at the Observatory. I haven't been in a while, so it was something I missed dearly.

  

Still not common in the south west of Uk, these in Wiltshire, but always a treat to see them

So I was inspired by Rachel Baran's Q&A post, and decided to make my own =). I've had this urge to begin vlogging, and I really think I am going to start that this year, so this will be a little bit of 'testing the waters' with the help of your lovely questions. You can ask/tell me anything you want, whether it is photography related or just general questions about life, myself, or whatever you want me to talk about.

Canon may have had a shaky start to their mirrorless system camera revolution with their inaugural EOS M which was a marketing failure, but they pressed on with introducing more EF-M mount lenses and with the further development of EOS-M cameras.

 

Here's one of Canon's recent offerings - the second generation EOS M6, or simply known as the EOS M6 Mark II.

 

In terms of product positioning, the EOS M lies between the Canon PowerShot point and shoot models and the EOS dSLR and EOS R full frame mirrorless systems.

 

Cameras like the M6 Mark II make great video recording equipment for vlogging and YouTube videos. They provide the flexibility of a dSLR without the bulk and weight of traditional dSLRs.
