The theme for my final series is how children’s interact with the world around them or, childhood. Through my photos I wanted to show how creative and thoughtful kids can be when they are exploring the world and having fun and in the last two photos show a contrast between how kids spend less and less time outside exploring and enjoying it and more time inside on electronics and gaming devices.
In my final series I attempted to use these photos to emphasize the theme of childhood by showing examples of areas a kid would usually find themself or them and their friend or friends while exploring outside. I used the first three photos as examples to this, in the first one I tried to show a bike laying down on a pathway entering the woods. This was to represent a kid biking on paths into woods or areas that are foreign to them. In my second photo I showed what was a bridge made by a group of kids I am friends with in the woods that has stayed their since they people it years before. I used this bridge to show how creative kids can become and how something seeming small to other people can seem huge and important or amazing through those kids. And in the third photo, I tried to show someone standing on the ledge of a tree branch very high up looking down onto the nearby ground. This was supposed to demonstrate the types of situations a kid could find themselves in or the type of breathtaking visuals they could discover. For the final two photos I tried to show a contrast in present day. I showed this by having the fourth photo show the emptiness of the playsets in the park by my house and for the fifth photo a kid inside playing video games. I used these ideas to show an example of how today less and less kids are doing the things in pictures 1-3 and are spending more time inside and away from those things they used to do or discover. I think I did very well with using the ideas in my photos to get my theme across and think the series turned out well.

A famous spot, a famous structure at a well-known place.
A place where most of us dream of.
I dream of edging across every corner of the World, exploring and capturing forgotten and unforgotten memories.
This was a very fun and interesting shoot. The locations that Kiki and I chose were by her school. It was cool to see the spots where she spends most of her free time. It was actually a very cloudy and somewhat rainy day so we had to move the shoot inside when it got bad. I hope you guys enjoy this set I put together.
It's a comic portrait of so-called "visual thinker" or "graphic facilitator". I drew it for a graduation project application to JAM, a Dutch company featured with "graphic facilitation". The basic requirements for a graphic facilitator are depicted in the drawing. www.jam-site.nl/

this was my visual merchandising class project. I really had fun doing this project. it took me at least 72 hours to put together. if the mannequin had a head and a face it would have been perfect, but thats all I had to work with.
first I put up a tarp as the base of the background then i pasted blue plastic to make it look like water. The circles on the ceiling are supposed to look like the ripples on the surface of the water. the mannequin is being held up with a broken easel that i found in the sketching room :)
unfortunately this display will be taken down tomorrow. :( ....so i took hundreds of pictures.

Weaving Splendor: Treasures of Asian Textiles.
fristartmuseum.org/exhibition/weaving-splendor-asian-text...
This exhibition presents rarely seen Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Persian, and Turkish textiles drawn from the renowned collection of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Made with fine materials, exemplary techniques, and stunning artistry, Asian luxury textiles have been integral to global trade for centuries.
The exhibition traces the history of these works of art and the people who owned them and carried them across the world. Luxurious costumes of the court performed power. Striking theater robes brought stage characters to life. Sturdy wall hangings and furniture covers transformed palaces, temples, and homes. Shimmering tapestry-woven carpets were created as diplomatic gifts for foreign rulers. Artists borrowed techniques from near and far to appeal to the latest fashions in the developing global market. The extraordinary stories of these textile treasures take visitors on a journey across continents, from the fifteenth century to today.

Looking at the front number you can be forgiven for feeling you are having a visual disturbance. It appears that the number has been overlaid over the old one and it is not quite right. The new number is in a stronger shade than the old - only the two does not quite match up.
