The need to facilitate orientation and communication through visual organization principles, was the starting point for the design of the uniforms of official personnel during the Olympic Games.
A contest judge had to look different from a ticket controller, a health worker from a technician. All told 88 groups of persons needed special uniforms. To make this multitude clearly understandable the personnel was categorized in superordinate groups under the aspect of related functions:

Hostesses
Doctors and health personnel
Security guards
Sport site personnel
Cleaning personnel
About one hundred invited guests and media attended the official opening of the Visual Voltage exhibition at Miraikan in Tokyo in the evening of October 20. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Mamoru Mohri, Chief Executive Director of The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), and Mr. Stefan Noreén, Ambassador of Sweden in Tokyo. Interactive Institute’s Magnus Jonsson and Sara Backlund gave a talk entitled ”Swedish Frontiers – design trends and innovation” at Mirakan in connection to the inauguration.

Alongside the music and dance, Brazilian visual artist Flavio Morais held a drop-in workshop in support of his new artwork at Merrion Gardens. Flavio worked with young people from CATCH Leeds towards the development of the mural.
This commission has been supported by Arts Council England, Wade's Charity and Leeds City Council.

I gave a workshop on geomancy at a retreat this past weekend. Increasingly I'm trying to make use of visual note-taking and presentation, so these were my diagrams and materials. I hung them on the wall, gave the workshop, and encouraged the attendees to photograph them for later study.
My take on AMANA, originally by Imrik, Naalo, j3 and the 4Imp crew. I worked really hard on the litestep. It has much more web integration now (see details section after the other preview images).

Litestep Details
The login/loading screen are all done in litestep. Basically, windows boots to my account and displays the login screen (no password matching yet, but it's coming - it's a moot point, as I have a boot password set anyway...). The login text area resizes down and the loading circles resizes out. It's a pretty slick animation :). The loader animation is a throwback to the old days of cmd prompt where you would just use the / - \ | characters to make a spinning wheel.
The taskbar has an integrated information bar that shows battery, network and twitter info. Clicking on the twitter bird calls a php function (via LSActiveDesktop) that fetches and updates the latest tweet from my feed. Clicking on the box icon brings up the console.
The console is by far my favorite part of the theme. I took stole a lot of design cues from the terminal in the new tron movie. Clicking on the icons on the left side change the text in the left panel. The home screen displays weather, news, and social info (pulled from various RSS feeds). Clicking on the graph icon brings up system info (CPU clocks, RAM, etc). Currently, those are the only two implemented, but once LSActiveDesktop is more robust, the chat, reader, favorites, and video app should all be possible.
The right side of the console features a little text area where you can input !Bang commands. It's not LSXCommand, but a Text Box that parses bang commands and runs them. I wanted to use LSXCommand, but I couldn't (I can't remember why, just that it didn't work like I wanted...). You can actually control the console from within this command box (so you can feel extra l33t), but it's not useful for much else. Really more eye candy than anything.
Clicking on the <<- arrow in the top-left brings back the desktop. That's about it.

Su potencia y flexibilidad se combina con la facilidad de aprendizaje, y lo mejor de todo es que el curso no precisa de conocimientos previos.

En el transcurso del curso se cubrirán los siguientes temas: geometría básica, color, imagen, vídeo, tipografía, captura web, visión artificial básica, interactividad básica con ratón y teclado. Librerías básicas de sonido y física.

Una visual de la plaza de la Constitución desde las escaleras de acceso al edificio de la DPZ. A la izquierda, la fachada solanera del Coso hacia la plaza, con toldos en abundancia y largura. En el nº 63 ya destaca el reciente diseño de Regino Borobio, que se iba casi a las locas seis alturas. A la derecha, el antiguo "Gran Hotel Europa", tras la sustituta de la Fuente de Neptuno, en una plaza con una irrepetible isleta central polilobulada.
