I'm such a geek, but I just love being able to sync my pedometer with tracking software on my computer via USB. The software is PC-only so it's running in a virtual machine using VMWare Fusion, which has been a great application for me because I can use Windows as though it's just another Mac application - and it's fast, too! The Omron software lets me see my walking activity at several levels of granularity, down to hour of the day, and shows everything in both aerobic and total steps.

Interesting (to me) image of Linux Mint installing on a virtual machine on my primary computer. (Recently I had to use a USB stick with Linux Mint on it to rescue my Windows system at work. It wasn't Windows' fault that it needed to be rescued - there wasn't enough room on the hard disk and I was over enthusiastic in what I deleted. Oops. That led to a cascade of errors that eventually rendered the disk unusable and unrecognizable to Windows. I used Linux to reformat the drive so Windows could see it.)

Buenos dias!

Windows 3.1 running on Virtual PC for Mac OS X, with the Hotdog Stand theme for shits and giggles.

But, it says I need a software update to play the video. I guess I should do what it says and install their software.

Sorry for the lame shots the past few days; it's been rather busy and I haven't had much opportunity to shoot anything creative. But, it's Doors Open this weekend so I will be shooting architecture on Saturday.

This is a stock windows 7 install. Fully patched. No special software running.

17 Gigs was just a bit too big for my Parallels virtual machine image now that Boot Camp support works in Parallels. Started this at about 4:30PM and it's 2AM now. And it's hogging my CPU.

I'm beginning to setup Windows 2000 inside a QEMU virtual machine running on Ubuntu Linux.

FreeGEM is a freeware version of GEM, a GUI first released by Digital Research in 1985. I have ever used Ventura Publisher running on GEM, it was one of the earliest desk-top publishing tools for DOS machines. To take this picture, I executed FreeGEM on PC-DOS 6.1 installed on VMWare virtual machine.
