Helianthus angustifolius is a species of sunflower known by the common name narrowleaf sunflower or swamp sunflower. It is native to the south-central and eastern United States, found in all the coastal states from Texas to Long Island, and inland as far as Missouri. It is typically found in the coastal plain habitat (both the Atlantic and Gulf), particularly in wet areas. Although, in general, this species prefers low, moist ground, it is tolerant of conditions varying from bogs and swamps near sea level to relatively dry, well drained, gravelly clay. It is not particularly drought resistant.
Helianthus angustifolius is often cultivated for its bright, showy yellow flowers. Leaves are long and narrow, up to 15 centimetres (5.9 in) long. It is a perennial herb sometimes as much as 150 centimetres (59 in) tall. One plant can produce 3-16 flower heads, each with 10-20 ray florets surrounding at least 75 disc florets.

Lens: Helios 44-2 58mm f/2.0
This is in our greenhouse and is doing so well and is so beautiful. I have taken photos with three different vintage lenses so I will post more photos with the other two lenses.
The "B/L Yellow Bird" orchid is a fragrant hybrid orchid, a cross between Bc. Richard Mueller and Brassavola nodosa, known for its bright yellow flowers with red spots on the lip and a sweet, lily-like fragrance, particularly noticeable at night.

Sedum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, members of which are commonly known as stonecrops. The genus has been described as containing up to 600 species, subsequently reduced to 400–500. They are leaf succulents found primarily in the Northern Hemisphere, but extending into the southern hemisphere in Africa and South America. The plants vary from annual and creeping herbs to shrubs. The plants have water-storing leaves. The flowers usually have five petals, seldom four or six. There are typically twice as many stamens as petals. Various species formerly classified as Sedum are now in the segregate genera Hylotelephium and Rhodiola.
Well-known European species of Sedum are Sedum acre, Sedum album, Sedum dasyphyllum, Sedum reflexum (also known as Sedum rupestre) and Sedum hispanicum..

The flare was actually caught with the lens. Flare is quite prominent with this lens. It just happened to be in the right place this time so I kept the photo.
Bougainvillea is a genus of thorny ornamental vines, bushes, and trees belonging to the four o' clock family, Nyctaginaceae. They are native to Brazil, Peru, and Argentina. There are between 4 and 22 species in the genus. The inflorescence consists of large colourful sepal-like bracts which surround three simple waxy flowers, gaining popularity for the plant as an ornamental. The plant is named after explorer Louis Antoine de Bougainville (1729-1811), after it was documented on one of his expeditions.
The species grow 1 to 12 metres (3 to 39 ft) tall, scrambling over other plants with their spiky thorns. They are evergreen where rainfall occurs all year, or deciduous if there is a dry season. The leaves are alternate, simple ovate-acuminate, 4–13 cm long and 2–6 cm broad. The actual flower of the plant is small and generally white, but each cluster of three flowers is surrounded by three or six bracts with the bright colours associated with the plant, including pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white, or yellow. Bougainvillea glabra is sometimes called "paper flower" because its bracts are thin and papery. The fruit is a narrow five-lobed achene.

Volna-9 50mm f/2.8 Macro
In the autumnal season, the vibrant colors of falling leaves create a picturesque backdrop. However, a Doublefile Viburnum bush appears to be experiencing a seasonal confusion. Despite its three blooming flowers, it mistakenly believes it is still in the spring. This spring-blooming plant has clearly missed its natural seasonal cycle.
A delightful surprise was captured in the photograph, as a small bee found itself within the frame. Initially, I was attempting to include the bee in the image, but I was unaware of its presence until I uploaded the photograph.

The Fly agaric...famous, beautiful, enchanting and somewhat toxic. The stuff of fairy tales, myth and legend. A woodland walk is always the better for encountering them! 🍄😍 Framing slightly on the tight side as I was slowly sinking, on my hands and knees, in a bog and could move no further back!

Aesculus pavia, known as red buckeye or firecracker plant (formerly Pavia rubra), is a species of deciduous flowering plant. The small tree or shrub is native to the southern and eastern parts of the United States, found from Illinois to Virginia in the north and from Texas to Florida in the south. It is hardy far to the north of its native range, with successful cultivation poleward to Arboretum Mustila in Finland.
It has a number of local names, such as scarlet buckeye, woolly buckeye and firecracker plant.
