A welcome splash of colour in the gardens at this time of year! The weather has been just too dreadful to get out for weeks now.
The mild winter seems to be encouraging new signs of life to emerge a little early...shot with the Helios 44M.
Wall to wall torrential rain today...which we need...but editing a splash of colour was much needed.
The woodlands are still a sea of Bluebells and Wood Anemones...but it won't be long until they leave us for another year. The scent is intoxicating in the Spring sunshine ❤️
Maybe the squirrels decided to leave this one lone sweet chestnut for another day....at least I think that's what it is!
Every time I think...no more...i see another tree hanging on in there and the temptation is too great. Shot with the Fuji XT1 and the trioplan 2.8 100mm.

I have wanted this lens for quite a while now. I got a terrific price on this one and it's almost like new. Quite happy with it.
This year has been wonderful for the Bluebells...possibly due to the lack of rain to flatten them these past few weeks.
Scabious flowers waiting for the bees and butterflies to descend...I gave up chasing them around and settled for just the flowers instead!!! Cop out 😁
Lens: Tamron SP BBAR MC Macro (23A) 60-300mm f/3.8-5.4
My first photos with this lens and it's a keeper. Quite large and heavy and is a telephoto with a dedicated macro setting. Macro ratio from 1:1.55 to 1:4

In our greenhouse. Flowering for the first time. So beautiful.
From Wikipedia:
Abutilon is a large genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is distributed throughout the tropics and subtropics of the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. General common names include Indian mallow and velvetleaf; ornamental varieties may be known as room maple, parlor maple, or flowering maple. The genus name is an 18th-century Neo-Latin word that came from the Arabic the name given by Avicenna to this or a similar genus.
Standing about a foot tall...they'd make a fair feast if they were edible. Best not chance it though!! 😬

I actually messed up when I took this photo. I was just going to delete and then I decided maybe I could make something kind of interesting out of it.

The sun was shining through the bedroom window where I have placed my kalanchoe plants so they will bloom.
Shot using the Helios 44M...I'm not sure what the sea of tall yellow wildflowers were but the marshy fields were full of them.
