One of the things I like about travelling is having the opportunity to do some urban photography, which I don't do very much at home. I don't feel very inspired by the buildings where I live but when I am elsewhere, they always seem to be so much more interesting.

On my daily stroll to go to the office, I can always see loads of swans wandering around the docks. This one was just grooming himself early in the morning under the harsh sun. I was there with my 35mm ready to take his pic. Really strong natural light but it didn't stop me from taking the picture using the F1.8

Portrait session.
Session at Forte de Cabedelo in Brazil. The light was rapidly going down and the fort has really nice windows to play with as the light goes through this grid shape where you can cast a nice shadow/light on the model. Using exposure lock I got correctly lit the model and everything else a bit underexposed which gives the mood to the photo.

Photo Session in Canary Wharf. Picture taken with the 35mm and retouched with Lightroom and Photoshop CC. The portrait has been enhanced using Dodge and Burn processing and adding some details and skin correction using filter separation technique. I hope you like the final results. Taken with available light with a wider aperture.

#Letters
For this week challenge I'm trying to be a bit creative with the things I have at home. I bought many years ago a couple of convex glasses and I had some letters made of wood with the word #amor (aka love). As I want to get a closeup of those letters I shot with my 300mm to create a nice dimension there. There is an off-camera flash (SB-700) that is sitting on top of the words and with a high speed trigger to shoot at 1/320s. Then corrected the white balance using Lightroom CC 2015.

A long exposure from Little Stony Point in Cold Spring, NY.
I was hoping for some low-lying fog on the Hudson as the temperature was predicted to reach the dewpoint, but unfortunately, this didn't happen. As an alternative, I decided to try a long exposure on the Canon 14mm f2.8 II using the Lee SW 150 II filter system. I feel it produced decent results, but it sure takes some time setting up. I may try installing the adapter ring before arriving on location when I think there's a possibility for some long exposure work.
