View From Above

One from a month or so ago. I was not going to use it as the reflection in the bottom left annoyed me but desperate times call for desperate measures. I had planned a trip to the Isle of Skye in September. I booked my flights months ago but never booked accommodation - not there is nothing available where I need to be...I was relying on those photos to play catch up...hence using this below par photo.

This is taken from the "Walkie Talkie" building in Fenchurch Street. Unlike the Shard, entrance is free as long as you pre-book and I have heard the views are better. I still need to go up The Shard so I can't comment on that. The viewing level is pretty spectacular with a massive atrium and a couple of restaurants and bars. I would have preferred a later time slot when the light was not as harsh. but hey, beggars can't be choosers!

It was very busy down this street and I had to wait ages until there were fewer people in my shots. Whilst I waited, I took this photo of a different view of the street.

Blue View Two looking almost cold this store display emphasizes color, shot in North Carolina.

Whenever I get a new camera, I head out into the backyard to take some test photos. This is one of the first photos I took when I got the new Hasselblad X1D. It arrived at the house, and I didn't even realize the delivery until the sunset. I was so excited and I threw a memory card in there to run out and take this photo.

I was so hoping that when I arrived here along US Hwy. 40 that I would be able to get my first glimpse of Pike's Peak. But not this day because of those heavy storm clouds. This is about all that remains today of First View, Colorado.

Ladies View is a scenic point along the N71 portion of the Ring of Kerry, in Killarney National Park, Ireland. The name apparently stems from the admiration of the view given by Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting during their 1861 visit.
