View towards San Francisco.

A church in Colorado Springs. This is arguably one of my favorites from the trip (looks really cool in large size). I think after I post them all I'll rank them in order of favoritism.

Anyway, this was right before lunch. I would have taken more but church was over, and it was awkward taking photos of it with all of the attendees spewing out and giving me looks. Because of course SLR user = media coverage person.

wowee,,, thanks to you all for your encouragement and sweet and sexy comments!

I took this during a family gathering. We had taken over the top floor of a Bar on Montpellier Walk. I liked the sun streaming through the window and it added to the warmth in the room. And as the street is predominately faced with our famous Cotswold stone, the sun bouncing off my side of the street was causing a sort of "honey glow" . So why I hear you ask, have I converted it into negative format?

Well by accident if I'm honest. I often play around with pictures, and more often than not, end up leaving them more or less alone. But this one caught me.

For those of you who have never shot film, this will be lost on you! When I was about 14, I was lucky enough to have a rudimentary darkroom at home. And I taught myself to develop my own B & W film, and print my own photos. I will never forget the feeling of excitement, when the time came to take the developed film out, hold it up to the light and be able to look at the results. So seeing this photo in this format, instantly transported me back 40 odd years. And at my age, that feeling is pretty good!!

Black sand beach of Waipi'o valley, Big Island of Hawaii.

Info: Waipi’o valley is named after the river that flows through it. This valley was home to old Hawaiian kings and is said to have been very densely populated. Now however, Waipi’o valley is mostly wilderness and hosts taro fields (Taro is a traditional Hawaiian staple food) and a couple of dozens of inhabitants.

Waipi’o Valley is named after the river that runs through the valley ( wai-piʻo means curved water in the Hawaiian language) and is about one mile wide and six miles deep. Towards the back the valley splits into many ‘fingers’, each with its own waterfall. The valley faces the ocean with a beautiful black sand beach. > www.lovebigisland.com/waipio-valley/

We didn't sit down near the river for long - it was just so we could decide which way to walk back to my sister's (pictured with her husband) house for tea and sandwiches!

This is the view looking south, taking from the roof terrace at work. The bar spoils the view, but you can just catch sight of the sea and Isle of Wight in the distance!!

Yet another view of Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire, this time from the east but further away from the hall.

We'd like to check how different people have different approaches and views of situations and objects. This is our challenge. Where may it lead us?

Temos um novo projecto: fotografar o mesmo local, situação ou objecto para obter diferentes pontos de vista. Este é o nosso desafio. Até onde nos irá levar?

Have a fabulous day, everyone...

Alternative view

I have enjoyed LA nightscape, but always the view through major freeway just like others. I got a chance to drive through the city on side streets and discovered an alternative view of the skyline.

Same to life as well. Oftentimes, taking an alternative approach to your decisions would work better than what you have expected !!!

I would like to thank Worldworx, Steve, for writing me a great testimonial. Besides being an excellent photographer, his captures of the world in different angles and perspectives are second to none. Thank you my friend.

View from the beach at Shoebury Common, Shoeburyness, Essex. The Isle of Sheppey and the Kent coast in the distance.

Couldn't resist re-taking this shot and paying better attention to the comp. This one includes more of the cabin on the right, has better placement of the rock and shows off more wildflowers. I can't imagine having lived here and waking up to this view everyday.
