Hi all, here is my first attempt to freeze smoke with light.
Today was a very hot day, so I've been the whole time closed in my house trying to do something useful.
I'm planning to buy the new Canon Speedlite 430 EX II, but in a while I've got a very old Canon 177a (I can't find an image of this museum piece) from my daddy's metal gear.
Today was one of that day I was looking at it on the desktop, with the question in mind "how can I use it with my 450D?". So I remembered that one time I red a tutorial on how to take a shot of smoke in a very simple way just with one flash.
At this link (in ITA) you'll find all the information to repeat the experiment. I took just an hour to set the little studio and to modify the raw on Photoshop.
ps. I also found a videotutorial (in ENG), on how to process the final image in PS.

I have decided I finally need to learn how to use photoshop so I have been watching video tutorials. Instead of focusing on the task at hand I started to wonder how they made these tutorials. After a little research I figured it out...I also came to the conclusion that there is a lot of crap out there... In this case the only thing I could do is add to that crap...

Hoy es un día especial en nuestra vida. Se pone a la venta mi nuevo libro.
En esta ocasión me acerco al mundo de la composición en fotografía. Es un tema que siempre levanta encendidos debates.
He intentado apartarme de otros libros sobre el tema y abordarlo desde el punto de vista de la percepción humana. Explico la forma en que nuestro cerebro ve la realidad y trato de explicar las diferentes opciones que tenemos para que nuestro mensaje se vea reforzado, que nuestras imágenes transmitan las sensaciones y sentimientos que pretendemos imprimirles.
Hemos hecho todo lo posible para que el precio sea asequible, 26,90€ (220 páginas), impreso con la mejor calidad disponible en nuestro país en papel de baja ganancia de punto con imágenes barnizadas.
Está profusamente ilustrado (más de 250 imágenes y 100 esquemas). He procurado poner fotografías muy diferentes, alejándome de mis temas habituales, para ofrecer ejemplos de formas muy distintas de componer, algo también poco frecuente en otras obras sobre el tema. He tratado de mantenerme en el delicado equilibrio entre la parte teórica que fundamente las decisiones creativas que tomamos y la parte práctica que todos buscamos.
También he incluido una sección que explica de forma muy visual como va variando una imagen con los cambios explicados en el libro.
Para complementarlo he creado una serie de videotutoriales, más de 90 minutos de contenidos inéditos en los que he volcado todo lo aprendido sobre este interesante tema.

¿Cuándo y cómo te uniste a la comunidad Blythe?
Fui capturado por las Blythes en el año 2010.
¿Por qué razón comenzaste a crear o customizar Blythe?
Empecé customizando Blythes porque me atraía mucho el proceso de modificar una muñeca a tu gusto. Más tarde me cansé y cosas de la vida que le comenté al portero de mi bloque en Barcelona que me encantaría aprender a coser, a él se le iluminó la cara y abrió el cuartucho de la portaría para regalarme una máquina de coser muy antigua que iba a tirar, pesaba un quintal. La arreglé y engrasé gracias a videotutoriales de youtube y la magia comenzó. En esta máquina hice mis primeros pinitos con la costura. Mi tia, mi abuela y bisabuela han sido costureras típicas de pueblo con renombre, así que supongo que eso se lleva en los genes ya que he sido muy autodidacta en este campo y partí desde cero sin ningún conocimiento. Otra explicación no encuentro.
¿Dónde encuentras tu inspiración?
Mi inspiración surge en cualquier momento y en cualquier situación, no la busco. Si buscas tu inspiración no la encontrarás, es una amante fugaz. Si algún día no me siento inspirado lo mejor que puedo hacer es ponerme a cocinar un bizcocho. Entonces es cuando las ideas llegan como relámpagos.
¿Qué artículos ofrecerás en tu mesa?
Sets de vestidos para Blythe. Aunque lo que más estoy dispuesto a ofrecer son abrazos y charlar un rato con todo el que se acerque a mi stand a saludarme, es por eso que me encantan los eventos.
