For those who missed our Digital Darkroom Workshop....

I'm very very busy lately working on so many new things and projects all about the italian handmade scene! I'm so happy and I'm meeting so many talented and fantastic people.

Between them , from about an year I'm collaborating with two girls from Milan who own a super succesful blog here called:

www.lefunkymamas.com

Together we've starting to produce a series of videotutorials for who thinks to be a real dummy on diy/upcycle/handmade things!

Two of them are online yet, they are in italian but I think they are pretty easy to understand!

Here's the first one on Vimeo:

I'm so thankful for Sara Adams videotutorial and Dasa for this wonderful model!

I tried to learn this beauty at the German Convention in Berlin, but time was too short...

So now here it is :-)!

This is the classic origami model folded from a two-sided kraftpaper (dollar size) and then you see that there is also a color change. I folded two of them, because there is also a model, developed by Giles Towning, Two Flowers in a Pot. So you can decide which one you want to fold ;-))

Diagrams $Flower in a Pot (designed by Herman Lau) can be found here.

There is also a video tutorial by Mariano Zavala.

I saw this simple one in the Andrés Lozano's stream www.flickr.com/photos/56723190@N02/7190685866/ and folded it following this videotutorial:

I've started doing video tutorials, there not amazing just basic tutorials on night photography skills, something i've wanted to do for like 5 years now, I've done with uni for 6 months so i'm getting motivated to do something.

Only took this picture for the tutorial but I do quite like it seen as i'm not really in to wire wool. The sky looks epic.

It was my wife's birthday today and my mum offered to take Leon off our hands for the night and she suggested we go out shooting, how perfect is she. :-)

Had a nice chat with a police man who wondered what the hell I was doing.

Have a look at my second video, or the first. Plenty more to come, they will get better...honest!

Post processing video tutorials & written tutorials in German and English

Dubai Morning Glow

This shot was taken earlier this year in Dubai. The city is unbelievably vibrant and colorful at night and the early morning hours. The sun rose the left and illuminates the top portions of the buildings together with the city lights below, making the street look like straight from a science fiction movie. It's fun place to visit.

The shot was processed in Photoshop using luminosity masking techniques only. If you want to learn more about this, simply continue reading the full post below :).

(Weiter unten für Deutsch)

Tony Kuyper and I have finally released the matching video series for the German version of the TKActions Panel. It's been fantastic to work with Tony on this project and we are a bit proud to push this product out to the market and hope that people will find the video tutorials as well the TKActions panel in German helpful and that we can be a part of your creative workflow. Free tutorials and videos can be found here: www.andredistel.com/tutorials-luminanzmasken/

Since this post is mainly directed at the German speaking audience, the rest of this post will be in German language. Feel free to visit my Youtube Channel through the video below. There is also an English introduction spoken by Tony, that might interest you. If you are interested in the English speaking video series, simply visit Tony's website at www.goodlight.us or Sean Bagshaw's website at www.outdoorexposurephoto.com.

Deutsch:

Do you have a soft spot for charming origami creations? If so, you should definitely take a look at Anicé's designs. 🌟 The hedgehog showcased at the recent Origami World Marathon is a prime example of his talent. It's simply adorable! 😍 What truly impresses me is how Anicé can take basic origami structures (you can confirm this by examining his crease patterns) and turn them into these cute models with fantastic color changes. I had the opportunity to witness Anicé's exceptional shaping skills in person, and it's truly on another level👏 By the way, Anicé and Eliot Dupré are currently displaying some of their creations at EMOZ in Zaragoza, Spain. If you happen to be in the area, I assure you that it's worth a visit – you won't be disappointed! 🎉
