Just a test to see if videoblogging via Flickr is a goer. Hmmm. Quality doesn't seem to be too bad. What do people think?

Another short video clip showing some of the varied patterns which arise from soap and water films inside small frames. This is mainly as a response to the questions I've been asked about using this 'soap frame' for photography, to give an idea of the movement of the liquid. The inner circle measures 18mm but different sizes can be used. I would like to find a more attractive frame but this is the only one I have at the moment.
Taken with my trusty little Sony W50 'point and shoot' as my better Sony (A100) doesn't have the movie facility. The quality varies as the camera (on a tripod) is trying to focus, but it will give an idea of what's happening in real time.
I apologise for the irritating clicks - I don't have any way to mute the sound. Probably a good idea to turn your volume down before watching ;-)

Perhaps placing the cake with its candles and sparklers directly under the smoke detector wasn't the best plan.
Taken for Active Assignment Weekly - There is more I do besides photography
Well, I know this isn't very special compared to some of the tremendous submissions this week, but it's what I do in my spare time, besides photography. I wanted to do something in my classroom, but just didn't get the chance, and I have done family submissions before so I went with something different. This is me playing Battlefield 3, my favorite game ever!
New from our BrickScreen line of products:
You can load your own videos onto this 2.4" self-contained video player-- just connect to your computer and copy your video files. Up to 30 minutes of video can be stored. The screen also has a volume memory function with saved volume settings even when the power is turned off.
I was initially quite disappointed to see that Flickr had added the ability to do video. I personally think when one specializes and does it better than anyone else there's no reason to attempt to capture greater market share by splitting one's focus.
I watched maybe five videos on Flickr and overall I just didn't really understand the point.
Then tonight I was thinking again about their addition of video (and how can you not when it's on every news site and headline aggregator?) and really thought about their concept of "long photos" and realized that I could actually accept it.
One of my favorite things when I'm talking photography with someone is to open up iPhoto because the only things I keep in there nowadays are 'before and after' shots of things I've uploaded to Flickr. I have no shame in about the fact that I use Photoshop and I'm always happy to show someone what I do or have done.
Tonight I realized there's no reason I couldn't do that for all of my friends on Flickr.
So hey, if you're bored, here's a quick video of some 'before and after'. It's not super high-res, that's not the point. The point is ... hell, I don't know what the point is.
To show that I'm not doing anything special? To illustrate how sometimes a simple crop and color balance adjustment can transform something mundane into something ... less mundane? To find some other way to talk about my photos not acutally being anything special?
I don't know what I'm trying to say with this video other than, "here, watch the things I've done, you know, if you want." Who knows how I'll feel about this tomorrow?
EDIT: and of course the video ran just a little too long, so it's cut off, but whatever, I'm not going back and making this all over.
