Le château de Vêves, construit au bord d'un petit affluent de la Lesse, a des origines anciennes. En effet, Pépin de Herstal y avait déjà élevé une villa dans la seconde moitié du VIIe siècle afin d'être plus près de l’ermitage de Saint Hadelin à Celles. La villa fut ensuite transformée en une petite forteresse par ses différents successeurs au IXe siècle. Cette forteresse fut rasée en 1200 et reconstruite en 1220 par la famille Beaufort qui en fit un château-fort plus puissant.
Détruit par les Dinantais au XVe siècle et rétabli aussitôt, le château eut encore à subir les ravages causés en 1793 par les révolutionnaires français.
Au XVIIIe siècle, la famille de Liedekerke-Beaufort restaura le château, lui donnant son aspect actuel.
Avec les châteaux de Beersel, de Bouillon, de Corroy, de Horst, de Gand et de Lavaux, il constitue un des plus beaux châteaux médiévaux de Belgique.
En janvier 2018, le château de Vêves remporte le prix du patrimoine préféré des wallons.
Il est ouvert à la visite une partie de l'année.
Vêves Castle, built on the edge of a small tributary of the Lesse, has ancient origins. In fact, Pépin de Herstal had already built a villa there in the second half of the 7th century in order to be closer to the hermitage of Saint Hadelin in Celles. The villa was then transformed into a small fortress by its various successors in the 9th century. This fortress was razed in 1200 and rebuilt in 1220 by the Beaufort family who made it a more powerful castle.
Destroyed by the Dinantais in the 15th century and immediately restored, the castle still had to suffer the devastation caused in 1793 by the French revolutionaries.
In the 18th century, the Liedekerke-Beaufort family restored the castle, giving it its current appearance.
With the castles of Beersel, Bouillon, Corroy, Horst, Ghent and Lavaux, it constitutes one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Belgium.
In January 2018, Vêves Castle won the Walloon favorite heritage prize.
It is open to visitors part of the year.

Introduced at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show The two seat, two -door coupé had a bonded aluminium structure for strength and lightness the Coupe features a hatchback style rear tailgate. Design credit for the original V8 Vantage has been disputed. The design is officially credited to Henrik Fisker, design director of Aston Martin at the time the Vantage was introduced. However, some sources, including Callum himself, claim that Ian Callum, director of design for Jaguar at the time and former director of design at Aston Martin, was responsible for creating a large amount of the design for the Vantage during his time at Aston Martin, before Fisker joined the company.
The Roadster version was unveiled at the 2006 Los Angelis Autoshow, To compensate for the loss of the roof a new, super-stiff cross-member was added to the frame, powered by the same 4.3-litre V8 from the coupé producing 380hp, that engine was increased to 4.7 litres in 2008 at the same time as the Coupe,. The Roadster weighs in at 3770lbs, 80lbs heavier than the Coupe
The V8 Vantage was initially powered by a 4.3 L (4300 cc) quad-cam 32-valve V8 which produced 380 hp and 302 lb·ft of torque However models produced after 2008 had a 4.7 litre 420 hp V8. Though based loosely on Jaguar's AJ-V8 engine architecture, this engine was unique to Aston Martin and featured race-style dry-sump lubrication, which enabled it to be mounted low in the chassis for an improved centre of gravity. The cylinder block and heads, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, camshafts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, lubrication system, and engine management were all Aston Martin designs and the V8 engine was assembled by hand at the AM facility in Cologne, Germany.
The original V8 Vantage could accelerate to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.7 seconds topping out at 175 mph , Vantages with the enhanced 400 HP version of the 4.3 L V8 engine
