Romanesque style - Assymetrical because of pre-existing Bell Tower, crowned by Ghibelline merlons.
The staue of St. Martin is a copy of the original 13C work now inside.
The upper part of facade with three tiers of arcades is signed by Guidetto da Como (1204) and the decorations on the pillars and arches by the Lombard masters (12C).
The lower part of the Campanile dates from 1060, the upper 1261.
The three wide Romanesque arches begun in 1233 and partly the work of Guido Bigarelli da Como and the exquisite decorative details carried out in pink green and white marble.
On either side of the central door, bas-reliefs depict the story of St. Martin and the months of the year. On the left doorway is a relief of the Deposition and under it the Adoration of the Magi, perhaps early work by Nicola Pisano.

Girls are processed the same in both photos. I altered saturation and/or brightness in four versions, and sent to Jennifer for an opinion as to what to post to Facebook. She narrowed to these two. Missy's Internet is down; I will invite Elene to come look, but what do you think O Learned Viewers?
I did not take this picture. A friend of mine took in on a recent trip to Japan. Wish I was in Japan.
