Over the summer, there were several high profile Power of the Primes releases that, at least for North America, were Amazon exclusives. Of course, things being the way they are, getting all of them when you live in Canada is a pain in the ass, with the one I really wanted, Punch/Counterpunch, either disappearing off the site in an instant, or was US only. Either way, not looking like its going to happen.
On a more positive note, however, I did manage to get the second item on my list - Nemesis Prime.
Nemesis Prime, in case you're not a Transformers geek like me, is basically the name they've (Hasbro) has decided to use for all evil Optimus Prime repaints, with the tradition starting all the way back when Armada aired. Being Power of the Primes, this particular toy is naturally based on the Optimus Prime from that series, and is one I never actually bought because I just felt that the toy was kind of lazy.
Nemesis is effectively the same toy, but with some key differences. Obviously, colour is one of them, but it goes beyond that to include a new head sculpt on both the combined mode and the inner bot (Nemesis Pax), two forearm cannons which are what PMOP would have if his guns were on steroids, and two bladed weapons including one which transforms into a bird named Giza. All this does make the Nemesis Prime set feel like something you'd get as Takara exclusive, though hopefully the Takara version, if there were one, would actually have painted wheels.
I think retail was $70, which is I believe about $10 more than the standard Ultra sized figure, but a price difference worth paying given the extra parts.
Combined Nemesis Prime stands approximately 9 inches tall, or roughly the same size as the PMOP from Titans Return. The use of black only for most of parts works to the advantage of the figure in my opinion as it makes the panels stand out less. It's truthfully the weapons that make this mode as without them, Nemesis Prime/Optimus Prime just looks like a watered down version of MP01. Articulation is decent, but has no waist swivel, wrist swivel, or neck tilt.
Much like with Fortress Maximus, the smaller bot (Nemesis Pax) is definitely more fun to play with, even if the cab mode is kind of meh. It has the same sort of articulation limitation as the larger bot, but has joints that are much easier to manipulate into position. Finally, as one could guess, the weapons again make the trailer, though the swords do admittedly look kind of goofy on the roof.
So overall, not bad. The colour scheme does scream evil to me, and is probably the slickest looking Nemesis Prime around next to that repaint of Big Convoy for the old Universe line. Between the OP and Nemesis, Nemesis is probably the version of this mold to own unless you absolutely must have every version of G1 Prime there is available.
Some buddies and I did a 75 mile ride in memory of Pete Beers. It was 10 miles of road, 37 miles of gravel, and 28 miles of rooty singletrack.

Behold! My LEGO version of the classic Speak & Spell from Texas Instruments! You’ll notice that the keys are round and not square that’s because my version (the original version) had round, raised plastic keys, NOT the flat/square membrane keyboard that all of the subsequent models had. Yeah yeah, I’m old. I know. 😂

A sandwich of two versions of the shot. The trees are pretty straight whereas the sky owes some of its punch to a tonemapped layer combined with the colour burn layering process. The scene wasn't far off this though! v2
満開の時期を迎えた桜の花。花見をする時期は今日［当時］が最後の様で季節代わりを予兆とする強い風が吹いてきており、桜の花が散り始めた頃である。恐らく今年の桜撮影チャンスが今日が最後でせめてこれが撮れてよかった。
