Portra frame of the same b/w below, I like it alot but this one definitely show's how dirty this roll of negatives is... lot of touching up if I decide to print any.... depressing! I like the soft blue's and tonal gradation in the Portra demonstrated here.

El 6 de diciembre realizamos la quinta versión de la Noche por la Igualdad, uno de los principales eventos de recaudación de Fundación Iguales y la instancia en la que celebramos a aquellas personas e instituciones -tanto públicas como privadas- que han sido un aporte a la lucha por la igualdad de derechos de la diversidad sexual y de género durante el último año.

En esta oportunidad reconocimos a Metro de Santiago en la categoría Institución Pública, por el apoyo que ha dado a las organizaciones de la sociedad civil en la difusión de campañas educativas; a revista Caras como medio de comunicación por la manera en que han abordado reportajes ligados a la comunidad Lésbica, Gay, Bisexual, Trans e Intersexual (LGBTI); a Deloitte como Empresa Internacional por su contante impulso a la creación de espacios laborales inclusivos, a Empresas SB como Empresa Nacional, por la creación de políticas de diversidad e inclusión dentro de su compañía y su protocolo de transición para sus colaboradores y colaboradoras trans.

Finalmente, el reconocimiento como Figura Pública recayó este año en la abogada especialista en Derechos Humanos y redactora del proyecto original de Ley de Identidad de Género, que en 2013 fue patrocinado por Fundación Iguales y la organización trans OTD, Ximena Gauché.

Entre los asistentes hubo políticos como la presidenta de la Cámara de Diputados, Maya Fernández, entre otros. También representantes del mundo empresarial como Matías Verdugo, gerente general de Empresas SB y Ricardo Briggs, CEO & Regional Managing Partner de Deloitte.

Además contamos con rostros como el de Diana Bolocco, Tonca Tomicic, Cristián Sánchez, Di Mondo, Helenia Melán, Mauricio Jürgensen, Carolina Urrejola y Constanza Santa María, entre otros.

Este es un evento para casi 500 personas que año a año se realiza en el Hotel W. En esta ocasión hubo un desfile inaugural del diseñador Cristóbal Miranda, una presentación de Francisca Valenzuela y un stand up de Felipe Fuentes (Obvio que sí).

This is a view of some of the building backs taken from a parking lot off King William Street in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. The store fronts look quite respectable but the back alley view leaves a little to be desired (aesthetically, anyway). The title comes from the sign above and to the left of the door. - JW

Taken using a hand-held Nikon D5000 fitted with a Nikkor 18-105mm VR lense set to 28mm, ISO400, Aperture priority mode, f/5.6, 1/60 sec. PP in GIMP: duplicate the image as a new layer, convert to black and white and adjust contrast, to accentuate edge detail, blend back with original colour image, flatten, iteratively adjust contrast, tone (darker) and saturation (increase) until this hard-looking result was obtained, sharpen, ad border and scale to 1024 wide for posting.

Project: create a "back to school" type cover for our quarterly magazine.

After getting great lab feedback I redrew all the wording (you really realize how many letters "evangelism" has in it when you're drawing it). This time I traced and colored in a serif font with pencil and paper. Then scanned it and inverted the colors after a little clean up in Photoshop. I think it really helped with legibility and it eliminated the paper texture that was an issue in the previous version.

It`s not over..... far from over.
