Versatile Peruvian Zinnias are at home in cottage gardens, as a mass planting, and among meadow flowers. An easy-care annual wildflower that will bloom all summer, it produces an abundance of red, nectar-rich flowers that attract butterflies and bees. The 1-1/2" diameter blooms perch on tall stems, making them delightful as cut flowers, too. Peruvian Zinnia is native to the Southwest US; it prefers full sun and, once established, tolerates dry soils, though it adapts to most soil types. Direct sow seeds in the garden after all danger of frost is past, or get a head start by sowing seeds indoors about a month before your last spring frost date. If you allow some flowers to mature and form seedpods, the seeds may self-sow and, in mild climates, create a naturalized planting that will return every year.
And here's the rain that accompanied the rainbow I posted yesterday. Ying and yang! I love the rain, but my camera doesn't, so I've been thinking about a smaller, lighter, more weatherproof camera - suitable for street photography but has some versatility too - limited budget (maybe secondhand). Does anyone have any recommendations?

Up to the early 1950s, this one was used by a knife grinder. He would take the train from Luton to London and then cycle back through the villages sharpening knives and scissors. Audacia is Allseas’ versatile pipelay vessel, optimised for the execution of small- to large-diameter pipeline projects of any length in all water depths, and for associated work such as the installation of risers and subsea protection frames. The concept for Audacia was developed entirely in-house and she has been operational since 2007.
A length of 225 m places her between Allseas’ dynamically positioned pipelay vessels Solitaire and Lorelay. Precise manoeuvring on full dynamic positioning with a stinger positioned on the bow allow Audacia to work safely in congested areas and lay pipes in very deep water. Pipeline start-ups and lay-downs are executed in very quick time ensuring any disruption to other activities near platforms is minimised. Due to her long length and ship-shape Audacia can accommodate multiple work stations and has a greater pipe hold capacity. Her independence from anchor handlers and large buffer capacity also ensure she is less dependent on pipe off-loading from supply vessels. A high transit speed, high lay speed and large carrying capacity ensure Audacia is highly competitive for pipelay projects anywhere in the world.

I saw these walking around one of my favorite neighborhoods called Tangle Town here in St. Paul Mn. I never saw these before! ; )
The celosia caracas are a very versatile plant with an unusual, yet elegant, shaped flower that can display quite a lot of different shapes, sizes and vibrant colors. This flower is often referred to as a cockscomb and is a more popular term used by gardeners due to its appearance.
This plant has a unique physical characteristic; displaying feather-like, fluffy, floral plumes that have a mystical quality, blowing in the wind with even the slightest breeze.
