A little, or not, humor on these trying days.
Ver 2: I didn't think the square format worked so I went back to the original format.
This is a beetle that I designed and folded in 2004 or 2005. It has a completely different base than the newer version. I like the fact that all the appendages are quite long, but the base itself has a lot of unused paper.
It's a cool bottle and a nice color but a crappy absinthe. I wouldn't even call it absinthe...
One flash two photos.
1st photo - Flash on left side of the bottle to light up the glas
2nd photo - Flash behind the bottle
Photoshop, layer mask, BAM finished

Epic shots taken by the inimitable Benny Lee!
Costume is an original design inspired by the 'cyberpunk'/fantasy genre work of artists including Masumune Shirow, Eric Canete, Joe Benitez, and various modern gaming concept art.
The process was a lot of fun and took approximately 3 months of on-and-off planning and building.
The assembly is made from over 60 parts designed in Solidworks and sewn/cut/glued/laser-cut/heat-formed using various techniques.
The costume includes color changing LEDs on the spine and front that are controlled by an Arduino microcontroller and onboard RGB controllers (respectively), and is powered by 16 AA batteries, 1 LiPo rechargeable battery, two 2032 coin cells, and one 9-volt battery. In total there's more than 70 LED's on the entire costume and over 60 parts.

Dear friends and contacts,
Starting from today I would like to present my Nikon Baby blog. The main purpose is no other than sharing knowledge on photography which I've been studying for a few years.I could not start a blog in those days as I needed to collect-to some extent- pretty good pictures.I do believe that even if my knowledge on photography could be considered higher than a beginner if not yet seen as a professional. I'll try my best to present at least a photo every 3 to 4 days.

Khitrovka (Russian: Хитровка), was a square in the centre of Moscow from 1820 to 1930. This square was located in place of today’s house №11a in Podkolokolny lane. In the second half of the 19th century Khitrovka became a bawdy place of Moscow, a den for thousands of unemployed and criminals. It is described by V.A. Gilyarovsky, C.S. Stanislavsky and other authors.
These places were visited repeatedly in late 19th – early 20th century by L.N. Tolstoy, T.L. Schepkina-Kupernik, V.A. Gilyarovsky, C.S. Stanislavsky, V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko and the artist V.A. Simov who painted decorations for the play «The Lower Depths» by M. Gorky. A.K. Savrasov finished his life in poverty here. The grand duchess Elizaveta Fedorovna, the foundress of Marfo-Mariinsky Convent, established the school in the convent for orphans and children picked up by her at the Khitrov marketplace. The Khitrovka area and its habitués are vividly described in Henri Troyat "Daily Life in Russia."
All the dens were liquidated in the twenties of the 20th century. Before World War II a school was built on the square.

Spent the weekend in Bethel, ME and really wanted to get in a pre-dawn hike up Sunday River. I bailed last minute Saturday morning due to high winds and a possibility of having the summits fogged in. Sunday morning was much better with nearly no wind and clear conditions. It was a bit overcast to the west, but that helped with adding some nice up lighting.
