On the outskirts of centertown, there are all of these massive structures multi-storey structures spewing hot air. From what I can guess, they are the air exchange units for the maze of underground malls and restaurants and offices that run an interconnect loop through the entire downtown core. And each and every one of them is designed differently. They just might be the most utilitarian structures I have ever seen. So very Eighties. So very pragmatic.
Layers of acrylic and bondo make these up. Still a bit of detailing to go but you get the jist. These will be cast separate and the vents will serve as the battery door on the final prop

A C2C service from Fenchurch St crosses the Regent's Canal. A low viewpoint aided by the wild flowers helps hide the graffiti. Thanks to Antony Guppy who educated me on the old chimney.

It's not unusual for a mine to have vents for fresh air. Usually they are located somewhat further than 20 feet from the entrance though.
It was raining when I was here. I was standing here waiting for the rain to stop and wondering why I kept getting yet. It was hard to see this from the bottom.

The Lincoln Street Vent in Highgate, Western Australia. Apparently it was built in 1935 and sealed in 1941 - possibly the Metropolitan Water Supply Sewerage and Drainage Department really wanted people to know they'd done the job.

Here's a vent fan I built for solder fumes. It's basically a 120V fan hooked up to a dryer vent hose. I bought a nice toggle switch, and put it into a small Radio Shack project box. All I have to do is open a window, stretch out the dryer hose, plug it in and turn it on.

Type locality has twice been corrected, first from South Africa, secondly from Sri Lanka; Sri Lankan race therefore no longer the nominotypical one. Genus as currently constituted probably polyphyletic; in-depth analysis of morphology, voice, behaviour and genetics required to redefine its limits. Present species forms a superspecies with P. aurigaster; sometimes treated as conspecific owing to interbreeding in Myanmar; hybrids earlier described incorrectly as separate species (P. nigropileus and P. burmanicus). In NW India, often hybridizes with P. leucogenys; hyb
