Well, after all of the boiling and reduction I ended up with just over 1/3 of a cup of pure "Illinois Maple Syrup"... (750 ml).... YEAH!!! And next year I will get the spile in earlier and the tree will be a bit larger.
My vegetable garden. Raised garden bed, potatoes in old tires, tomatoes, basil lettuce and more. Lots of salads so far, the summer squash should be ready within two weeks.

Am 19.09.2010 fand in Bardowick das 59. Erntedankfest statt, eines der Größten in Deutschland.
Tausende Besucher sahen den Festumzug und begeisterten sich an den Darbietungen, der Trachtengruppen und Musikzüge in der Worth.
In diesem Jahr nahmen 20 Festwagen, 12 Jugendwagen und 7 Musikzüge teil.Die teilgenommenen Wagen aus wurden mit Blueten , Gemuese und Korn aufwaendig dekoriert.

kiriboshi daikon (dried radish strips), stewed with carot strips - again, the first try for me.
kiriboshi daikon, hijiki (seaweed) and okara (bean curd refuse) are the 3 major traditional sidedishes that come up in my mind. if i cooked okara this week, i may feel like scoring a hat trick.

I went to the Garden Museum with a collegue to visit the Highgrove Florilegium Exhibition again. About the exhibition, I wrote in this shot , or you can read in my profile page.
There was a demonstration titled "Summer Decoration with Bulb Flowers". It was actually very interesting. Some examples are here.
While changing my sons clothes I heard the song of the mountain chickadee and quickly grabbed the camera and opened the window, through the screen you can clearly hear it sing "cheese-burrr-ger" about midway through and towards the very end......the visual is the corner of our yard soon to become raised vegitable garden beds, since that corner get the most sun, the windows were discards from a neighbor we will put on top to help keep them warm on chilly nights and the big black tub that spins is sooo full and heavy it is hard to spin now, the composter seems to be making soil already! i looked in on monday and it looks like dirt not like food scraps! there are also some upended pots to be planted next month, still snowing on and off here, although this weekend it is supposed to be 71 degrees!

Finally I got a time for cooking.
Before I went to Hawaii, I didn't take care of my meal.
But now, I'm trying to buy organic vesitables, and meats.
When I lived in Hawaii, I usually went to "kokua market" or "down to earth."
I recognized the one thing.
Good foods make me happy and clean mind.
But I tend to eat junk-foods these days, it makes me bad and dirty mind.
Actually, I'm not good at to eat flesh vegitables.
(boiled vesitables are OK though)
But I'm eating for my health.

Seriously some good stuff here.
The secret is in the crust….man….sooooooooooo good!
