Le pont des Arts est inscrit au titre des monuments historiques depuis le 17 mars 1975.

Journée du test de l'EOS R5 de canon, je me suis donc promené le long des berges de la #Seine. Cette vue a été prise depuis le Pont Neuf alors que le soleil se couchait timidement, la luminosité n'était pas au top mais une légère embellie du ciel a agrémenté ce cliché. Je me suis régalé avec ce petit bijou de @canonfrance, c'est sûr que cela me change de mon #eos5dmark4 et je ne le connais pas encore suffisamment pour en tirer le meilleur parti mais cela m'a incité à franchir le pas et je pense à l'acheter prochainement. Aujourd'hui, je vais aller faire des tests en intérieur histoire de voir ce que cela donne. Un petit coucou aux @vedettesdupontneuf que l'on voit admirablement bien sur cette #photographie.

Le pont Saint-Michel fut construit sous #Napoléon III, c’est la raison pour laquelle il y a deux N impériaux sur les piliers. Il mène à droite au quartier latin qui tient son nom du moyen-âge , car c’est en latin que l’on enseignait à la célèbre université de la #sorbone notamment.

On this Christmas evening we made a one hour cruise on the Seine operated by Vedettes du Pont Neuf.
At the left Quai d'Orsay and ahead Pont Alexandre II. And Tour Eiffel as well.

Due to the high water Paris is missing out at least one public for the moment.
2016 European Floods
In late May and early June 2016 flooding began after several days of heavy rain in Europe, mostly Germany and France, but also Austria, Belgium, Romania, and Moldova. Beginning at the river Neckar, also the Danube, Rhine, Seine and their tributaries were affected by high water and flooding along their banks. At least 16 people have died to date.
In France, the river Seine burst its banks and one town was evacuated. Two people died in the floods. An 86-year-old woman was found dead in Souppes-sur-Loing, Seine-et-Marne, after her house was flooded. A 74-year-old man on horseback died in Evry-Gregy-sur-Yerre, south of Paris while crossing a flooded field.
Some areas reported the worst flooding ever seen in a century. In the department of Loiret, six weeks worth of rain reportedly fell in three days. Drivers on a highway had to be rescued by soldiers.
In Paris, boat cruises were cancelled. The Louvre museum barred public admission on 2 June to 3 June to preemptively secure the artwork in case of flooding caused by the river Seine. Flooding in Paris was expected to peak at around 6.30m over normal, higher than 6.18m high seen in 1982, but below the 1955 flood level of 7.12m, and the 1910 Paris flood which saw levels at 8.62m over normal.

This statue was given in 1889 to France by U.S. citizens living in Paris, only three years after the main statue in New York was inaugurated, to celebrate the centennial of the French Revolution. Originally, the statue was turned towards the east in order to face the Eiffel Tower. In 1937 it was turned towards the west so that it would be facing the original statue in New York. It is one of three replicas in Paris.
The statue is near the Pont de Grenelle on the Île aux Cygnes, a man-made island in the Seine (48°51′0″N 2°16′47″E). It is a quarter-scale version (11.50 metres high), and was one of the working models used during construction of the actual Statue of Liberty. This model weighs 14 tons. It was inaugurated on 4 July 1889. Its tablet bears two dates: "IV JUILLET 1776" (4 July 1776: the United States Declaration of Independence) like the New York statue, and "XIV JUILLET 1789" (14 July 1789: the storming of the Bastille) associated with an equal sign. This statue is shown in the film National Treasure: Book of Secrets as a historic location.

The Seine (La Seine) is a 777-kilometre-long river and an important commercial waterway within the Paris Basin in the north of France. At the point where the bridge crosses the Île de la Cité, there stands a bronze equestrian statue of King Henry IV of France, originally commissioned from Giambologna under the orders of Marie de Médicis, Henri’s widow and Regent of France, in 1614.
After his death, Giambologna's assistant Pietro Tacca completed the statue, which was erected on its pedestal by Pietro Francavilla, in 1618. It was destroyed in 1792 during the French Revolution, but was rebuilt in 1818, following the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy.
Bronze for the new statue was obtained with the bronze from a statue of Louis Charles Antoine Desaix and cast from a mold made using a surviving cast of the original. Inside the statue, the new sculptor François-Frédéric Lemot put four boxes, containing a history of the life of Henry IV, a 17th-century parchment certifying the original statue, a document describing how the new statue was commissioned, and a list of people who contributed to a public subscription.

As I'm standing on the Quai du LOUVRE, I'm overlooking the river Seine. The bridge is Pont Neuf and on the other side lies the Quartier Latin (5e & 6e arrondissement).
It's Saturday morning. It has rained last night but the sun is coming through as we hit the streets of Paris once again. We are heading for Rue de Buci for breakfast. Or should I say brunch?
On the other side in the river Seine the Vedettes du Pont Neuf are awaiting their first customers for the day. Not many people enjoy a rooftop boat ride as it's stone cold! We spot one sole Japanese man who seems bold enough. That, or he's frozen ;-)

A walkway just in front of the Square du Vert Galant leads to the Vedettes du Pont Neuf, this photo also showing just how bright, but also shaded the square is for any people to sit and have a rest.

The Pont Neuf (New Bridge) is, despite its name, the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. Its name, which was given to distinguish it from older bridges that were lined on both sides with houses, has remained.
Standing by the western point of the Île de la Cité, the island in the middle of the river that was the heart of medieval Paris, it connects the Rive Gauche of Paris with the Rive Droite.

After his death, Giambologna's assistant Pietro Tacca completed the statue, which was erected on its pedestal by Pietro Francavilla, in 1618. It was destroyed in 1792 during the French Revolution, but was rebuilt in 1818.

It appears these are a group of cancan dancers misplaced by Toulouse-Lautrec. Or else they mistake our tour boat for that of Toulouse-Lautrec and began to perform for us to capture their talent on canvas, or in this case, pixels.
