I actually did sew some of my own clothes in the eighties and some of them were pretty horrible and I wore them proudly!

The theme of this photo is nature, as showcases a leaf. My shutter speed was 1/2500, and my f stop was 5.6. This photo displays value, as the leaf's colors transition from a light green and a dark red. There is also shading present on the sides of the leaf. Texture is also utilized, as it clearly shows the texture of the leaf. I chose this photo as taking pictures of natural items is my favorite subject. I believe it showcases my love or it, and showcases my abilities as a nature photographer.

"A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life. "

More shots of the completed Vaerdilemma board-game; considering adding them to a Facebook page ... so this is mostly for testing

This illustrates value with the lighter tints of yellow-green towards the top of the ball and with the darker shades towards the lower half. It also shows a monochromatic value scale, with the varies shades and tints of yellow-green. I thought it was interesting how this appeared on photograph, as in real life the values aren't as distinguishable.

-This image is Value because there are different shades of black, gray and white. There are also other elements such as Line and Shape.

-I was in the AGO and there was a quiet empty room playing this video on a massive screen and I sat there for about 20 minutes alone in silence and took this picture with my phone.

-I think the person in the center of the screen is the most striking because they are in the middle of the screen. The screen is also striking because of how bright it is and how dark the room is.

-I like the way I shot the image so I'm not sure how I would improve it. If I had my camera I could have taken a better quality photo.

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.

We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

We want to thank you for your interest in our work and thanks for visiting our work on Flickr, we do appreciate you and the contributions you make in furthering our interest in photography and on social media in general.

One side of the whizzer is a star with the 7 Olympic Values. The other side is blank for you to decorate. Whizzers have traditionally been simply large buttons with a loop of thin yarn threaded through opposite button holes. This whizzer is made of strong card. Its single central 5mm diameter hole is divided into two with a twist of cellotape. This makes for a very smooth 'whizz'. The technique for whizzing involves a concertina movement of the hands, pulling outwards then relaxing. Attractive wooden bead handles are attached to the ends of the loops so that fingers are not pinched when whizzing. A page of colourful stickers is provided for decorating the whizzer and watching the effect when the card circle is rapidly turning. Teachers will find the whizzer is a great accompaniment to lessons about the Olympic Values or for giving out with certificates to students who have demonstrated these values.
