Success may often be determined by monetary values or recognition among society, but changing society's perception of success can lead to a greater realization of unique individual achievement. Alejandro shares his experiences growing up and the stories of inspirational people he has met on his journeys. Alejandro Castro Macias is a senior at The Woodlands High School. Throughout high school he has spent the majority of his time participating in debate, tennis, philosophy, AP expansion, and various Rotary sponsored activities. Castro is always seeking to think outside of the box. His eagerness to seek out new experiences and learn what he can about the world around him stems from the belief that innovation comes about from building a bridge that connects two seemingly unrelated ideas together. He hopes to expand on this belief throughout his formal education and apply it to his work later on. Although not sure of where Castro will attend college, he hopes to pursue a degree in finance. I chose this picture for my element of design for Value because they used alot of shading and different values of one color in this image.
I would say the depth is not contrasted as much as it could be; however there is some depth with the two strokes that are brought to the front. I do not see a dominant movement, but a range of movements in the zig-zags and from the center background to the edges. The heaviest shape in this design is the two lines. The weight does match its importance because they have a lighter contrast than the rest of the design. A way negative space affects my overall balance is the shapes all look continuous, as if they go off the page. They also create a value with different shades of space.
