Overflow of trucks at Ontario after several depots were consolidated. This branch had an abundance of "shorty" cake trucks. I always thought these looked like they were suddenly chopped behind the rear wheels. You can see a small faded Dolly Utilimaster on the end.

I think this is based on a Ford E-250 chassis. This one had the registration number EX 0152.

Utilimaster guessing Oshkosh chassis

Hostess Brands depot West Palm Beach, FLA. (FEB 2011).

I saw this strange looking step van with a Isuzu-esque grille. Upon closer inspection, it had a badge on the side that read Powered by Isuzu. The grille reminded me of the US only SUV that we never got up here. Assender, I think it was.

Does anyone know more about this obscure looking work horse?

Like, were they common and were they only sold in the US or Canada too?

2011 model with a Utilimaster body, Freightliner chassis, automatic trans and Cummins diesel. Zoom up close to see the NEW type of clearance/marker lights changed to a LED which resembles a tiny spot. The new UPS trucks also have these. The life of a LED is much, much longer than an incandescent bulb that needs replacement after so many hours of life and blow out often from road shock.

I think this is a Utilimaster but can't be sure - can any American viewer confirm?

Built by Utilimaster, year unknown.

Unit Number: 256783

Body: Utilimaster Reach

Chassis: Isuzu NPR Ladder

Trucks that didn't fit inside the Charter Oak/Glendora Depot after they closed the Depot at the Pomona Wonder Bakery. Mostly typical Continental Baking exclusive Grumman bodies on Ford chassis with a Dolly Chevy Grumman, and two Dolly Utilimasters.

Now I've seen both Fed Ex and UPS using it

2009 model with a Utilimaster body and Workhorse chassis. 5.7 V8 Chevy engine, automatic trans, 18 ft step van. Notice above the grille the letters L-A-N-C-E, kinda cool and unique

This is Freightliner chassis and Utilimaster body...It is an 2003 model that has been repainted and decaled to Pan o Gold's main brand, showing their Light breads for that billboard effect. I saw this truck just west of Milwaukee and have been looking for this design for the last 8 months, since I past one back then. I know for a fact that they are NOT going with this design on their new trucks (see my photostream) but are appplying it to a few older models. I am sure the costs are way more pics like this vs just letters.

Stored in reserve. I remember when this truck and it's sisters were new. They were too long and you couldn't park them straight in a bay, you had to angle park them in a double bay. IIRC, these were built on Oshkosh Chassis.. Really nice trucks, nice "captain's style seats", grating (and a door) to keep the load from coming forward. BIG windows too. Only thing I didn't like about them was the shifter was a carbonfiber shaft and it was somwhat "flimsey" feeling
