In the early days of the Wisconsin Central, Besides the need for diesel locomotives to move freight, They also had to accumulate a fleet of trucks and other equipment to maintain the rails.
One of the most interesting trucks that I found was this odd-looking Chevrolet “Utilimaster” hi-rail pickup parked at North Fond du Lac in February of 1988.
The WC never did purchase any new diesel locomotives, but in later years they certainly did end up with an impressive fleet of brand new trucks of all kinds to replace worn-out old junkers like this. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

I saw this strange looking step van with a Isuzu-esque grille. Upon closer inspection, it had a badge on the side that read Powered by Isuzu. The grille reminded me of the US only SUV that we never got up here. Assender, I think it was.
Does anyone know more about this obscure looking work horse?
Like, were they common and were they only sold in the US or Canada too?

A Canada Post truck, a UPS delivery truck, and an RCMP Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, plus a Honda Accord and a Chevy Impala Blue Line taxi, parked next to the Clarica Centre on O'Connor Street in downtown Ottawa, between Albert Street and Queen Street.
I did not know this until today, but apparently the most common design of UPS van as seen in this shot is manufactured by a surprisingly obscure company called Morgan Olson (formerly Grumman Olson), which also makes the walk-in vans used by Canada Post, also as seen in this shot.
This is actually an Autostitch composite shot.
