Late July 2023...
This month of storms was just down right jaw dropping. Why not continue since we didn't have any storms in May or June! Overtime for July is the way I like it!
90% of the time of year in South Central Nebraska is Hot & Humid. It is normally the beginning of our dry season. But not in 2023.
In the path of the Jet Stream that day that forced some severe thunderstorm development over south central Nebraska. We were not excepting anything super severe but a tornado or 2 is always possible this time of year.
Gear Primed & excited about the views I'm going to get for this event that day. I knew they were going to be photogenic.

Early May ... 2024
Vivid streaks of light illuminate a turbulent sky over a barren landscape at night, revealing the dynamic nature of an approaching thunderstorm. Flashes of lightning appear to rip through the darkness, creating an atmosphere of raw elemental power.
Check out the Tornado on the lower right part of the screen... This was in Axtell Nebraska as I was pointing the cams to the due west. Confirmed on Radar... Yes It was coming right at me so I didn't stay long!

Yesterday was #1 of 4 and this is #4 taken over 25 mins while walking down one pier looking back at the central pier, by now it is dark, and the water left by the receding tide leaves reflective patterns in the sand, reflecting the lights of the attractions.
Thank you very much for your the respose to yesterdays image, and also for the birthday wishes to my partner, think you might have beat her facebook friends!

With dozens of railfans waiting for the CP 150 train to enter the Port of Montreal, a drone user launched his drone nearly at track level (seen just to the left of the lead unit), which seemed dangerously low and was certainly very inconsiderate to the many railfans waiting to shoot this historic train in an unexpected location (the CN Wharf Spur).

This was the autumn scene a year a go and it wouldn’t bee long before the leafs are of a golden color as fall approaches. The weather has been terrible of late here in Amsterdam but I a source you, things will brighten up very soon to reveal the splendors of autumn. I hope to keep you up to date on this. I’ve been really busy at work as of late, but things should clear of very soon for me (and hopefully the weather).

Located along the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto’s west end, HBBH incorporates a diversity of native wildflowers, shrubs, trees, grasses, sedges and a variety of physical features known to support butterflies throughout all life cycles. The goal of HBBH is to establish a self-sustaining native plant community which will support a variety of butterfly species, while engaging and educating park users about the value of urban wildlife habitat."

this photo appears on the inside imogen heap's album cover. the album speak for yourself was released today (july 18th) plug plug. buy it here: immi's site amazon its also available on iTunes but if you get it form there you don't benefit from all the wonderful cover art! immi (her flickr member page) found me on flickr after finding this image of saint pauls and millennium bridge also on the same day i took this shot i also took this photo of immi that is my most popular photo and one of my personal favs as well its the one of the girl on the bike with the red coat. this one of the very few digital images i have in my flickr stream don't worry i have not been converted, after getting impressed with the canon EOS 300D i got me a EOS 1 film body (click here for my EOS1 pics) < much prefer the film version!
we did the shot on a very cold February night from about 6pm till 1am it was so cold so much so that i purchased a par of lowerpro photography gloves after very handed , if you live some where cold get a pair!

A scan of slide derived from Kodak Eastman Double-X pushed 2 stops and reversed in PQ Universal
You can see a development error on display (particles in the midle) - ran out of Sulfuric acid, thus made my Permanganate bleach even weaker than usually. That gave me an idea to push this bleach to the limits - to bleach with this poor man's bleach without additional time for compensation. Result: a tad underbleached - just a tad and without any additional time! When the situation repeats itself, I'll add a minute or two of bleaching time and bleach to completion.
This tells me that I'm on the right track with using dilute (~66%) Bleach to begin with by mixing parts 1A + 1B (as in recipe) + 1 Water. This has the additional bonus of splitting Parts A and B nicely in 10 working solutions! And using dilute bleach means less frequent handling of angry concentrated chemicals.
So - dilute bleach is safer for emulsion, safer to handle and it saves on chemicals. Best part - bleaching time stays the same!

Solo Chase Day & Close to Home....
Luv it when the chases are in my backyard. Not having to drive 3 states and 1200 miles in 1 day is relief. I know I'm not the only chaser that says that. This was a phenomenal afternoon of severe weather. When I say this... It means that its photogenic & for the most part not effecting the farms, agriculture, livestock & the human element.
Mammatus before the storm, then I decided to bail on this first storm for the next which was to the north about 25 miles. This storm had wicked good rotation under the base. Even though it was high based it was producing some freakin awesome views.
The storm had overtaken my position and I had a 40 min drive to get back in front of this storm. It was on my tail the whole way back to the I-80 corridor. Though a little late I was still able to get back in front of shelf cloud. The teeth on the outflow were almost scraping the ground. It gave the effect of a funnel but it was not. Been doing this to long to make sure I know the difference.
That was a hoot. Though I waited til the last minute. I got swallowed by the core & had to wait it out. Want to see what its like out in the open with no shelter... This I have also done a billion times. 50mph winds rocked my truck! That was fun!
Finally, I blazed it backed to Kearney for this Storms Finale... Beautiful Sunset light illuminates the exiting storm with a Anvil Rain & Mammatus Cluster ... It was truly a Sight to See!!!!
