I decided to use the www.rebrick.com challenge as a chance to step out of my usual concept car building scale. This is my interpretation of a city scale hypercar. You can place this model next to any Speed Champions car and it will fit it very well. It was fun also to use a not so common color as green. Thanks to the PAB wall possibilities I got tons of the 1x2 and 1x4 green slopes to make this model in greenish flavour.
By using a combination of a "detail extractor" and a "contrast only" filter in Color Efex Pro 4, I found the image had what could best be described as "drama." That's what this image in essence is about. I took several images while at this point just north of the Meeting-of-the-Waters Viewpoint. What I then noticed was just an amazing set of contrast that came out, especially in the rivers with the rapids and the trees with the various leaf colors. Then there was the mountainside and then the dark clouds above. With all that, contrast and drama just seem to be a way to entitle this image.

I used a slow shutter speed to get a full 'prop circle' from the four-bladed propeller.
Billed as 'An economical 3 seat touring aeroplane', presumably for the extremely wealthy, it was not wildly successful as only 3 were built. This one survives, though.
Aircraft Transport and Travel Ltd., whose name is on the side of the plane, was the first airline to offer a regular daily international flight. It was between London and Paris, starting in 1919. The cost was £21 - equivalent to £750 today. Flight time was 2.5 hours, double today's flight time, but you didn't need to be at the airport 2 hours before departure. There was no in-flight entertainment, but you did get a hot water bottle for warmth, and you were guaranteed a window seat.
I don't think this is the greatest shot in the world, but I always wanted to get a shot of this barn, and I had a bonus of getting a shot of the snow too. :)

Griffon vultures have been used as model organisms for the study of soaring and thermoregulation. The energy costs of level flight tend to be high, prompting alternatives to flapping in larger birds. Vultures in particular utilize more efficient flying methods such as soaring. Compared to other birds, which elevate their metabolic rate to upwards of 16 times their basal metabolic rate in flight, soaring griffon vultures expend about 1.43 times their basal metabolic rate in flight. Griffon vultures are also efficient flyers in their ability to return to a resting heart rate after flight within ten minutes.
As large scavengers, griffon vultures have not been observed to seek shelter for thermoregulation. Vultures use their bald heads as a means to thermoregulate in both extreme cold and hot temperatures. Changes in posture can increase bare skin exposure from 7% to 32%. This change allows for the more than doubling of convective heat loss in still air. Griffon vultures have also been found to tolerate increased body temperatures as a response to high ambient temperatures. By allowing their internal body temperature to change independently of their metabolic rate, griffon vultures minimize their loss of water and energy in thermoregulating. One study in particular (Bahat 1995) found that these adaptations have allowed the Griffon vulture to have one of the widest thermal neutral zones of any bird.
It declined markedly throughout the 19th–20th centuries in much of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, mainly due to direct persecution and "bycatch" from the poisoned carcasses set for livestock predators (Snow and Perrins 1998, Ferguson-Lees and Christie 2001, Orta et al. 2015). In some areas a reduction in available food supplies, arising from changes in livestock management practices, also had an impact (Ferguson-Lees and Christie 2001, Orta et al. 2015). It is very highly vulnerable to the effects of potential wind energy development (Strix 2012) and electrocution has been identified as a threat (Global Raptors Information Network 2015). Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used for veterinary purposes pose a threat to this species. One case of suspected poisoning caused by flunixin, an NSAID, was recorded in this species in 2012 in Spain (Zorrilla et al. 2015). Diclofenac, a similar NSAID, has caused severe declines in Gyps vulture species across Asia.

The used App Hypocam has a few Filters preinstalled and here I used the Filter HC-01.
About the series
I was in Berlin for a few days and of course I wanted to shoot some Photos. My normal Camera was a little too big and unhandy for my business-trip and so I gave a Chance to my smartphone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 11) and a free B&W-App called “Hypocam”. I would like to share a few impressions, but it will not be a detailed test of the smartphone-camera or the software. For me it was more about the question: can my Smartphone compete with my normal Camera? And can I create a nice & appealing b&w-Series with this equipment?
I will try to answer it primarily by showing the final results and I want to add only a little Text to every Photo. I hope you like the photos and if you want to leave a comment: What experiences have you had so far? Can a smartphone compete with or even replace expensive equipment in some situations?

I used to think that for a good capture I need a modern camera with large sensor, sticky autofocus, tons of cutting-edge features...
Since I started to use vintage film cameras something changed in me. The more I dive into photography, the more clearly I feel that the photography is about moments and light, not technologies...
change your attitude to the World around you, things, events, people, to yourself after all... And the World will shine with new colors, will open up in a new light...
