Un homenaje a los 189 años de la fundación de la República de Bolivia

El 9 de febrero de 1825, el mariscal Antonio José de Sucre y Casimiro Olañeta, abogado de Chuquisaca y sobrino del mencionado general, convocaron a todas las provincias altoperuanas para reunirse en un congreso que debía decidir el destino de la nación.
Pero, el destino de la nueva república estaba sujeto a tres posibilidades que se abrían en el seno de la asamblea, proseguir la unidad con Buenos Aires, incorporándose al conjunto de las Provincias Unidas, mantener la adhesión al Perú reconociendo las medidas de incorporación dictadas por el virrey Abascal como resultado de la revolución del 25 de mayo de 1809 en Chuquisaca, o sostener con decisión la independencia absoluta del Alto Perú, no sólo con relación a España, sino también con referencia al Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata y al Perú. Tanto como el gobierno de Buenos Aires y el Perú admitían esta tercera alternativa, en cambio, Bolívar, si bien no desautorizó públicamente a Sucre le reprochó en carta privada esta iniciativa, pues entendía que alentar en ese momento un acto de soberanía de esa naturaleza, conspiraba contra los intereses de la Gran Colombia, ya que el territorio de la Real Audiencia de Quito podría pretender el mismo trato que la de Charcas.
El Congreso General Constituyente de Buenos Aires, por decreto de 9 de mayo de 1825, declaró que «aunque las cuatro provincias del Alto Perú, han pertenecido siempre a este Estado, es la voluntad del congreso general constituyente, que ellas queden en plena libertad para disponer de su suerte, según crean convenir a sus intereses y a su felicidad», despejando el camino a la independencia altoperuana.
Sucre, un tanto molesto por el reproche que le hacía Bolívar, después de demostrar sus razones, anunció que obedecería lo mandado, pero que también abandonaría el país, porque lo que se le ordenaba no compartía con su criterio, más al contrario, chocaba con su conciencia y comprometía la fe de su palabra.
Convocada nuevamente la Asamblea Deliberante en Chuquisaca, el 9 de julio de 1825, y concluida se determinó la completa independencia del Alto Perú, bajo la forma republicana, por soberana de sus hijos. Finalmente, el presidente de la Asamblea José Mariano Serrano, junto a una comisión, redactó el Acta de la Independencia que lleva fecha del 6 de agosto de 1825, en honor a la Batalla de Junín ganada por Bolívar.
El acta de independencia, redactada por el presidente del Congreso, José Mariano Serrano, en su parte expositiva dice en tono vibrante:
El mundo sabe que el Alto Perú ha sido en el continente de América, el ara donde vertió la primera sangre de los libres y la tierra donde existe la tumba del último de los tiranos. [...] Los departamentos del Alto Perú protestan a la faz de la tierra entera, que sus resolución irrevocable es gobernarse por sí mismos.

People use their bicycles as their main means of transport in the Netherlands; they use trains and, less often, boats, too. So, one can see plenty of bikes chained almost everywhere, including the Nieuwegracht canal in Utrecht. So, much fewer cars invade the Dutchmen’s busy daily lives in the cities.
The skies may well be cloud-laden and grey; nonetheless, the sky’s cerulean, azure blue colour can still be admired on an outstanding bike parked, in juxtaposition with the autumnal hues of the fallen leaves all around.

Mesa Verde National Park
Far View was one of the most densely populated parts of the mesa from A.D. 900 to about A.D. 1300. Nearly 50 villages have been identified within a half square mile area, and were home to hundreds of people.
I purchased this, still in the original box and never used. The flashlamp was with a Kodak Photo Flasher dated 1954.
The lamp is laying on a sheet of Forever stamps.
Found this nice little old building in Benson, NC. Not sure just what it had been used for, but I'm thinking very possibly a church.
Usually I use the 14mm f/1.8 for my night captures, but on this trip with the Milky Way rising so low on the horizon, I started out by using the 16/35 f/2.8 here at the Fisher Towers. This allowed me to get various zoomed compositions and exposures. As this was zoomed in at 20mm for this capture, and the lens could only be opened to f/2.8 ... I increased the ISO to 10,000 and the shutter to 8 seconds to reduce star movement.
I think the results turned out pretty cool and something to consider doing more of when the location arises to use the 16/35 lens.
I used to jog around here and also enter the run every year when I lived here. I wanted my daughter to enjoy it so we rented bikes and cruised the sea wall. It was a nice family outting.

Scrivo, perché lo faccio non so, è quando generalmente sto bene con me stesso che lo faccio, o forse quando il tempo consente.
Sì nel tempo dove muore il tempo, in un tragitto, dove esiste assenza di rumori fastidiosi, è possibile.
Dopo un momento di meditazione ed uscita dai pensieri inutili.
Quali sono i pensieri inutili?
Sono quei pensieri a cui non si deve dare mai importanza, si devono lasciare come dono rifiutato.
Diceva un uomo saggio che se ti regalano qualcosa che tu non vuoi, devi lasciarlo a chi lo dona.
E’ pazzesco, ma non troppo.
Pensate a cose che non vorreste, faccio l’esempio di un’offesa.
Meglio non sentirla di cuore, l’altro nostro senso.
La lasciamo a chi la fa senza ribattere, che meraviglia non dire nulla.
Chi si carica del dono dell’offesa la risente.
Chi non la riceve ascolta se stesso, resta in pace.
Non c’è nulla di personale, ho letto un brano :

E’ una storia che potrebbe non interessarvi, fate quel che volete:
Vicino a Tokyo viveva un grande samurai, ormai anziano, che si dedicava a insegnare il buddismo zen ai giovani. Malgrado la sua età, correva la leggenda che fosse ancora capace di sconfiggere qualunque avversario.
Un pomeriggio, si presentò un guerriero, conosciuto per la sua totale mancanza di scrupoli. Era famoso perché usava la tecnica della provocazione: aspettava che l’avversario facesse la prima mossa e, dotato com’era di una eccezionale intelligenza che gli permetteva di prevedere gli errori che avrebbe commesso l’avversario, contrattaccava con velocità fulminante.
Il giovane e impaziente guerriero non aveva mai perduto uno scontro.
Conoscendo la reputazione del samurai, egli era lì per sconfiggerlo e accrescere in questo modo la propria fama.
Tutti gli allievi si dichiararono contrari all’idea, ma il vecchio accettò la sfida. Si recarono tutti nella piazza della città e il giovane cominciò a insultare il vecchio maestro.
Lanciò alcuni sassi nella sua direzione, gli sputò in faccia, gli urlò tutti gli insulti che conosceva, offendendo addirittura i suoi antenati.
Per ore fece di tutto per provocarlo, ma il vecchio si mantenne impassibile.
Sul finire del pomeriggio, quando ormai si sentiva esausto e umiliato, l’impetuoso guerriero si ritirò. Delusi dal fatto che il maestro avesse accettato tanti insulti e tante provocazioni, gli allievi gli domandarono: “Come avete potuto sopportare tante indegnità? Perché non avete usato la vostra spada, pur sapendo che avreste potuto perdere la lotta, invece di mostrarvi codardo di fronte a tutti noi?”.
“Se qualcuno vi si avvicina con un dono e voi non lo accettate, a chi appartiene il dono?”, domandò il samurai.
“A chi ha tentato di regalarlo”, rispose uno dei discepoli.
“Lo stesso vale per l’invidia, la rabbia e gli insulti”, disse il maestro: “Quando non sono accettati, continuano ad appartenere a chi li portava con sé”.

-Nikon D600 + Nikor 105mm macro 1X
-Helicon Remote para control automático de la pila de foco mediante el anillo de enfoque (por medio de USB)
-Helicon Soft para apilamiento de foco (38 shots, Method A, R=8, S=4)
-Helicon lo puedes bajar a prueba durante 1 mes gratis, o una licencia para un año por 50€, controla casi todas las Nikon y Canon mediante USB. Existen otros proveedores de soft para stacking (apilamiento), p. ej. Zerene, ControlMyNikon o Canon, Combine Z, etc
-Opcional: impresora 3D (Up Plus 2) para la fabricación de focos, soportes, mesa de trabajo, etc. Puedes utilizar el sencillo 123D Design (free soft) para diseñar las piezas.
Receta:
-Montamos el bodegón con sujeto y fondo
-Lo iluminamos con 4 o 5 micro-focos de leds. Los focos se pueden diseñar e imprimir utilizando una impresora 3D y después montar los leds (alta luminosidad y 5300K), la alimentación es de 12vdc para grupos de 3 o 4 leds. La ventaja frente al uso de flash, es que se pueden dirigir los focos y componer la iluminación antes del disparo, además del volumen que se consigue jugando con la iluminación.
-Disparamos las fotografías utilizando, p. ej., Helicon Remote: Helicon controla el enfoque con el movimiento del anillo de enfoque antes de disparar cada foto, todo el proceso de toma de fotos es automático, se pueden ver videos en youtube
-Para 1X se necesitan de 20 a 100 fotos, según valor de f, focal utilizada y profundidad de campo necesaria, lo calcula el soft automáticamente. Se suele utilizar el punto dulce de la lente (normalmente en el entorno de f5.6) para optimizar los resultados
-Apilamos el stack de n fotografías utilizando Helicon Soft
-Utilizamos Lightroom o similar para eliminar “halos” y “artefactos”
-Una vez se tiene práctica, todo el proceso puede durar 30 min

-Helicon Soft Focus Stacking (56 shots, Method B, R = 8, S = 4)
-Helicon: You can download a free trial for 1 month, or a license for a year for € 50, it controls almost many Nikon and Canon via USB. There are other suppliers of soft for stacking, p. ex. Zerene, ControlMyNikon or Canon, Combine Z, etc.
-optional: 3D (Up Plus 2) printer to manufacture light bulbs, brackets, desk, etc. You can use the friendly 123D Design (free soft) for pieces designing.
Recipe:
-Ilumination with 4 or 5 micro-LED bulbs. The lighters can be designed and printed using a 3D printer and then mount the LED´s (high brightness and 5300K), the power is 12VDC for groups of 3 or 4 LEDs. The advantage over use of flash, is that you can positioning the lights and lighting make up before shooting, in addition to the volume to be achieved by playing with these lighting.
-Shot photographs using, p. eg Helicon Remote. Helicon controls the approach to the movement of the focus ring before the photo shot, the whole process of taking pictures is automatic, you can watch videos on youtube
-For 1X do you needed 20-100 photos, depending on value of f, focal and deep of field needed, automatically calculated by the soft. Often used the sweet spot of the lens (usually in the vicinity of f5.6) to optimize results
-Now we stack of shots using Helicon Soft
-We can use Lightroom or the like to remove "halos" and "artifacts"
-Once you have practice, the whole process can take 30 min

I used to go to school at Portland State University, spent a bit over four years there in fact, so during breaks in classes, or long lunches, I walked the city. I have known about this tree for years, and I knew there was a photo of it that I really wanted to take. Yet despite frequent return trips over the years, I never found it. That is until this night on a photo walk, when the elements all came together and it made sense. And finally I have a picture of this tree that I am pleased with. Not that I won't visit it again, but it is nice to have that particular itch scratched. ;-)
More photos using a Canon FD 50mm f1.4 at f2. I tossed in a sunset just to see if it worked. Years ago, when I was using this lens on my Canon F1, I would have had a hard time getting this photo without a fill flash. I had to boost the shadows a lot but while the picture is not perfect it's close to good.

A Northern Shoveler drake passing through Wichita on his first migration. Normally I can't get this close to a shoveler, but as I was sitting on the park boardwalk behind the railings observing this guy some other park visitors walked down the trail. Happily the the duck moved away from them, towards me and right into the colorful reflections.... Lots of nice detail in large size....
The county features a wonderful sampling of classic barns. This is one example taken during a dramatic sunrise. Bellingham, Washington, USA.
