Merremia dissecta(Ipomoea sinuata پرانا نام ) or Alamo vine (common name) a very attractive twining climber of the morning glory family performs as a perennial climbing plant that can grow from 3-6 meters with slender twining stems( so it needs a fence or a trellis) growing from a long, thin taproot.Cultivated as an ornamental with known hazards that plant is poisonous to cattle.
It's water requirements are from low to medium,likes sun and also grows in partial shades.Can grow in dry to moist soils.Very drought tolerant.Native to Texas and Florida to South America.It bears large white flowers with dark burgundy centers (1-2 inches size)from April-November but in UAE conditions flowering season is from March to December,flower nectar is used by butterflies. The dark green foliage is intricately (پیچ در پیچ )dvided.The brown seed pods are interesting, resembling flowers themselves.The flowers open up about noon and close before sunset.Dormant in winter.
The leaves smell like bitter almonds and are used in India for making liquor.
An infusion (جوشاندہ)of the leaves is taken as sedative (مَسکِن ادوِیات کے ذَریعے دَرد ، تَکلیف، اور اعصابی تَناو کو کَرنے کا عمَل)
in the treatment of chest complaints. A cold infusion is a remedy for giddiness (چکّر), snake bites or intoxication (نشہ). A hot infusion is taken to relieve urinary infection.
A decoction (کاڑا ۔ جوش دے کر نکالا ہوا عرق )of the whole plant, used as a wash, is an effective remedy for scabies and itch(خارش). A poultice (مرہم ) of crushed fresh leaves is applied as a resolutive and sedative for treating of inflammations(سوجن).

Drying horsetail for later tea.
Horsetail is possibly the most abundant source of silica in the plant kingdom, so much in fact that the herb can be used for polishing metal. It got the name "scouring rush" from this very application. It has had other uses during the ages including being used for kidney and bladder ailments, and as an ingredient in shampoos, skincare products, and in dietary supplements. It has been used as an American folk remedy for gout, it strengthens fingernails and hair.
Helps body utilize and hold calcium; used in herbal calcium combinations.
The primary use of the herb, however, is as a diuretic. Gently stimulating increased urinary flow, horsetail helps "flush" infectious bacteria out of the bladder without altering the body's balance of electrolytes.
I, myself drink it as a tea, because I know where it came from and how it was processed, and I know its healthy, It is also delicious and very beautiful color. But yes, it is diuretic from my own experience, and my nails are very strong, I think I got benefit from horsetail :)

Jorge's back from the hospital! He's the TNR cat who stopped eating and had blood in his urine. He's finally home after over a week at Animal Clinic of Queens. He had a urinary blockage, which can be fatal if untreated. He was unblocked and his bladder (which was full of backed-up debris) was cleared. But he blocked again after a couple days. So we made the decision to have a "PU" surgery performed. The perineal urethrostomy involves surgical removal of the penis, effectively widening the urethra so obstructions are far less likely. He'll recover for 2 weeks, then get his stitches out. Meanwhile he has to wear this demoralizing cone (connected to a dog harness bc he kept taking it off). We're trying to assess him in the meantime to determine if he's adoptable. Thus far we're not seeing much evidence of him wanting to be an indoor cat (who can blame him after everything he's been through!) But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. He racked up a pretty big bill at the vet, a little over $2K, so we'd be grateful for any donations you can give. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common in kids and can be distressing to deal with. However, UTIs are easy to treat and usually clear up in a week or so with full recovery. Nevertheless, it is important to keep a check on your infant’s or child’s bladder habits as your child may be too young to be able to explain what feels wrong or to diagnose the underlying problem if UTI is a frequently occurring problem for your child.

The tract above the Kidneys is the Descending Aorta. Below that, it's called the Abdominal Aorta.

Note the celiac trunk, from which emerges the Hepatic Artery (Specimen's right), the Splenic Artery (Left), and Left Gastric Artery (on top).
The Superior Mesenteric Artery is right above the renal vein. The Gonadal artery shows on the side.
Note also that the Inferior Mesenteric Artery is not on this model.

Please make sure your kitty's urinary health is okay. I wish I would have known what I do now. Maybe I could have saved my cat. If your cat seems constipated or unhealthy in any way, make sure he's urinating normally. Sneakers seemed fine until he started to spend more time in the litter box than usual. I thought he was constipated, which I have read is a common mistake pet owners make when a cat's urinary tract gets blocked. He didn't show any signs of pain until it was too late. I wish I had known how important it is to monitor their litter box. Maybe someone else who didn't know will read this and not have to go through this sad experience.
