The Villa Hügel in the Bredeney district of Essen was built between 1870 and 1873 on behalf of Alfred Krupp and is the former residential and representative house of the industrialist family Krupp.
The castle-like villa has 399 rooms in its 11,000 square meters of living and usable space and is located - in a prominent position above the Ruhr Valley and Lake Baldeney - in the 28 hectare hill park.
One of the best places that I have ever seen in my lifetime are the antelope canyons. But I had my share of problems reaching to the canyons and shooting there.
First, I am not sure if this still exists, but the route to Page, AZ is not what it shows on GPS and you have to take a detour some 45 miles before what it shows on GPS, right by the side of a gas station. We went past by it (because there was no sign that the route down further was closed) and we almost reached Utah, before we could even make a U-turn (yes, we were only 25 minutes away from Utah). We almost reached "The wave".
Secondly, Photographers must stick to "photo tours" so that they can use the tripod. No fun shooting without them. I had booked a photo tour, but with our detour, we missed the trip by 20 minutes, All I wanted was to shoot the sunbeams and hence, I went in the regular tour which didn't allow tripods. But I am immensely thankful to the "Adventurous Antelope Canyon tours" who accommodated us immediately.
I was glad I was able to shoot the beam. It was an amazing experience and an extremely crowded place. Keep an eye on the cameras and keep warding the dust off, or else the cameras will be covered them.

The local council has ruined the spread of water flowing over this by putting stone blocks in inappropriate positions - the wrong help is no help!

It was a cloudy day in the canyon, so did not get the sunbeam inside, however, absolutely amazing place to photograph.

Some thin clouds moving above Upper Yosemite Falls made for a nice opportunity to use the 10 stopper. I'm not in love with the comp...it would have been nice to get the meadow in the fg...but it was dormant and dry with no snow, so I aimed up to frame the trees in. Tunnel view sunset was colorless as thick clouds in the foothills blocked the light...had to share something from this quick trip! Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!

More from Whiskeytown Falls. This is a shot of an upper section that is quite a dicey scramble to get to. You have to use a tree branch to scale up a very steep section, or walk very close to the main drop on a steep mossy section (we chose to use the tree). I think this might be the most beautiful section of the falls, as it plunges into a very deep emerald pool that just glows. My friend actually climbed up further above this section and found 2 more small drops, before the creek flattened out. Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!!!
I find these the trickiest of conditions. Bright sunshine, strong colours, deep blue, cloudless sky.
It's a landscape that I always seem to have visited in exactly the same kind of conditions.
It's such a great place to be on such a day though.
