It says the same thing it did on Jul 6th only now its got the date of Jul 30th, UGH....

Ill keep everyone Posted but its STILL STUCK!

So Yeah here's a quick update on what has been going on, thanks for understanding!

So I was inspired to update the picture of my every day carry gear. This is the stuff in my pockets every day. Not a lot has changed since July. I got a new space pen when I lost the old one. I've got a new notebook. I bound this one myself. There's a different color bandanna in by back pocket right now... oh and a new pocket knife.

Remember the Dinichi family? They were with us during the last fundraiser and I know they were loved dearly by the whole IBKC community. No surprise -- they were absolutely adorable AND there were a couple of polydactyls in the pack. We love our polys 'round here!

I'm so excited to share updates on three of our four Dinichis today.

First up, handsome Russle "Spud" Dinichi.

Here he is as a young lad.

Here he is now! MY GOODNESS! Look at those giant lobster claws!!

Here's an update from his mama, Lisa!

I have always been intrigued by ginger kitties and it was always my hope to be owned by one, but there was never one available when our family was thinking of adopting a kitten. So, a little over a year ago, a beautiful ginger polydactyl boy popped up on the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee Blog. My family notified me of this and I was strongly encouraged by my hubby and daughter to throw my hat in the ring. I was reluctant, given that we already had a 70-pound dufus dog (Stanley, about 10 years old) and a pair of brother cats (Jack and Louie, about 9 years old) that ruled the roost. I was reluctant to upset the delicate household balance. However, I contacted the IBKC, gave our story, and threw my name into the hat to be potentially owned by this little ginger boy.

I recall with great excitement the email from IBKC saying that we were the chosen family. Russell was tiny (in the neighborhood of 2 pounds), absolutely handsome and charming as could be. The first few days that Russell was home were spent in our “mancave” with hubby who was recovering from surgery. They quickly bonded over the SyFy channel and their mutual love of cuddling on the couch for hours on end. The first meeting between Stanley and Russell resulted in Russell becoming a huge “bottle brush” (it is amazing how big tiny kittens can make themselves!) The first meeting with Jack and Louie didn’t go much better. I truly wondered what we had gotten into. However, Russell grew quickly in confidence and size, and now outweighs one of our older cats by 5 pounds. He is 13 pounds now! Besides his favorite, well-loved sparkle ball, one of our older cats is his best friend. They wrestle and chase each other all over the house. When he’s not playing with Louie, Russell can be found chasing his ball all over the kitchen and living room, using his big mitts to bat the ball away (his soccer skills are just as impressive as you would expect they would be), just so he can pounce on it. When he’s not playing by himself or with the older cats, he can be found suckling on any soft blanket, before finally taking a long, well-deserved nap. Russell’s relationship with Stanley has improved immensely as Russell has matured. While Stanley is still too big for Russell to play with, he will gladly accept any licks that Stanley will give him. Stanley loves his kitten too, and has taught Russell how to beg for food. I have never met a cat so food-motivated, but he will do just about anything for a treat. Thank you, Laurie, for our little ginger baby. We love him!

Next up, we have the adorable Tegan Grace Dinichi. Above is a picture from her adoption day. Below, a nice bunch of pics and an update from her mama, Tanya.

I wanted to share an update on how Zoya (formerly Tegan) is doing. It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year since she has joined our family. She is a little nut and she is the best! She was a very goofy and clumsy kitten and that has not changed - sometimes when she is playing with a toy and trying to kick it with her back legs, she'll kick herself in the head instead. She spends a lot of time doing "the seal" - just laying on her back, looking around. She purrs constantly - just making eye contact with her is enough to get her motor going. She still has the adorable high-pitched squeaky purr she had as a baby.

Her favorite things are playing with us and the older kitties, spending time in the catio, chattering at birds and squirrels, hunting flies (she's very good), and treat time. She doesn't have the best biting manners - in fact her early nickname was Shark Face - but it's getting much better with time and training. She is starting to like snuggling a bit more, with us and the two older kitties. She is very social, and follows us from room to room. Her thumbs have developed well! She still has goofy lobster paws, but we haven't had any issues with the claws, which we keep trimmed. Thank you so much for raising this goofball, we can't imagine life without her!

And last up, we have Cassie Nicole, who now goes by the name "Lucy." Here she is as a tiny thing:

Here she is today!

And an update from her mom, Cathy: Here is the update on Lucy... She is a spunky little (not so little) kitty who has totally adjusted to being a girl. ha ha. Seriously though, she and Holly have fallen into a mutual tolerance and daily "kitties gone wild" chase. Every so often I even find them all curled up together and I consider that GREAT progress. Lucy loves to hang out on the deck and bird watch. She is also quite the foodie and has gotten a bit chunky so we are working on that. She still purrs so loud it sounds like a lawn mower and loves a good tummy rub. I just love having her in my life and I want to thank you for fostering her and socializing her so well. I attached a few photos. The one of kitties in the dryer was well supervised. : O Lucy is in the back, Holly in the front.Dear adopting families, thank you SO much for taking the time from your busy lives to share the stories and photos too! We love your kitties and it is always so wonderful to see your beautiful babies all grown-up and hear how well they are doing. We appreciate you sharing your kittens with us! THANK YOU!

As you can see I started the facade, I decided to go with a traditional facade.... of course that in here it doesn't look so traditional but thats how they do a lot forest cabins, and since this would be in a forest (in theory) It seemed appropriate.

Got a lot of work ahead of me... I even plan on making the furniture for it :p

PS: I know the photos suck.. dont worry its just a progress update.. i´ll make sure to do them right when i finish the whole thing :p

Hello Everyone! I know it has been awhile since I have sent pictures so I

thought no day better than today. :)

Everything here is going well, just getting a list prepared for all of the

final preparations for Aaron's return. I think I am a bit more excited than

Evan, but I think it is because he doesn't really know what a homecoming is

just yet. I think he will be happy to have another set of hands to snuggle

him because he is definitely going through a phase where he wants to be held

always! It is a little tiring, but I am trying to come to a happy medium

between the two of us! His little tooth has been threatening to come out

for weeks now. He is constantly trying his best to stuff his two huge hands

into his mouth.

Evan has been doing pretty good sleeping in his own bed. Usually around

2:30am he begins to play a game of "I spit it you get it" in reguards to the

pacifier, he usually requires attention every 20 minutes or so until around

5ish when he sleeps like a dream until 7. I've tried the "cry it out"

method once and belive me, it is much easier to put the paci back in and go

back to bed. :) Other than this little snag, he is on a great schedule

through the day and is so cute. He loves to play with his toys, especially

the ones that light up and play music. He also loves it when I sing him

songs, right now Where is Thumbkin is his favorite. He is also extremely

ticklish and laughs whenever I change his clothes or rub his tummy.

He is definitely a little mover, while he doesn't really roll over much he

sure does scoot around like crazy. He loves to have books read to him,

right now his favorites are Good Night Moon, That's Not My Pirate and How I

Became a Pirate (he really is his fathers son!). The only way he will

listen to books though is if the TV is off. I think watching TV is his

favorite past time. Thank goodness for Baby Einstein!

He is such a big boy! He is so long that when I put him over my shoulder to

burp him, he is on his knees! He has also graduated another diaper size and

is now wearing Cruisers...I guess that is a warning that more movement is

inevitable :)

I will send more updates soon. The pictures will get better when I have

another photographer.

We love and miss you!

Wick and Evan

I just added these 5 little strap dress sets, perfect for summer ;)

Updated shot of my 55 gallon planted tank, co2 injected, mid-high lighting. taken a little less than one month after setup.

Great Tampa Palms two story home with lots of potential for future updating/upgrades. Home sits on a nice big lot overlooking conservation.

Master Suite downstairs with large bathroom, plus additional 4th bedroom/den/office with tons of storage space. Ample kitchen with dinette area overlooks the Family Room and huge enclosed patio (29x20). Separate living room is also on the first level. Second story has two large bedrooms and one bath. As an added bonus, the garage is air conditioned. The irrigation system is brand new as well as the landscaping

including new sod and the outside paint. You will not be disappointed in this spacious home. This property is located close to I-75, shopping, dining, University of South Florida, Moffitt Cancer Center, Hospitals and so much more.

This also works well with cranberries!

[UPDATED RECIPE — Nov 2025]

I had to change up this recipe somewhat. I'd been using the same recipe for years, but for some reason my blueberry loafs were sinking in the middle.😐 I couldn't figure out why. I experimented in various ways trying to figure out the problem (increasing baking powder, adding more baking soda, lessening the amount of fruit, oil, — all to no avail). Eventually I did figure out the problem— the oven wasn't hot enough and I wasn't baking it long enough. Go figure— after all these years!

INGREDIENTS

------------------

1-½ cups + 1 tbsp all purpose, unbleached flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 cup plain (not Greek!) yogurt — I discovered low-fat sour cream also works well !

½ cup white, granulated sugar

2 large eggs, slightly beaten

2 tsp grated lemon peel

½ tsp pure vanilla extract

⅓ cup oil

¼ cup orange juice

1-½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries (I use frozen)

(for a variation, I like to subsitute ½ cup blueberries for ½ cup chopped cranberries)

PREPARATION

-------------------

Preheat oven to 375° degrees

Grease & flour a 9x5 loaf pan

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt

In a separate bowl, mix together yogurt, sugar, eggs, lemon peel, vanilla, oil & orange juice.

Slowly add the dry ingredients and fold in.

Toss the blueberries in 1 tbsp of flour, then gently add to batter mixture.

Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake 1-½ hours, or until a knife comes out clean.

Let loaf cool in the pan, before removing.

Sprinkle a little icing sugar over the top for decoration.

Makes 1 loaf, (or 3 mini loafs).
