Fujifilm X-T1

Tokina RMC II f3.5-4.5 80-200mm

update my nokia -_-

Anyways this is probably my last time using a phone for a camera. Considering that my mom has a laptop and I'll get my desktop computer fixed soon. However I'll probably won't get on sabrina's and saphire's account as much cause I'm going on vacation soon. I might be able to get on during vacation but I'll have so much to do, I don't know even when. Well anyways, I'm done talking.

I know it wasn't long ago that I posted a family picture. But here's an updated family picture again.

MSD's and tiny's go so well together. I don't think I'll ever get a SD-sized doll.

Garden Update 20250813

On 1 February the Amaryllis flower (bottom left) was on top of the tall stem, which was about 2 feet lower at the time. Since the flower died leaves like scimitars have shot sky wards from the base of the plant. I figure there must a really short natural growing season where Amaryllis comes from. It's been mostly very dull here, but the Amaryllis just blazes away. Outside only a few crocuses and Rosemary are in flower. It looks like the daffodils and most of the snow drops have been drowned, unsurprisingly.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say :- The name Amaryllis is taken from a shepherdess in Virgil's pastoral Eclogues, (from the Greek ἀμαρύσσω (amarysso), meaning "to sparkle") and also from "Amarella" for the bitterness of the bulb.

The taxonomy of the genus has been controversial. In 1753 Carl Linnaeus created the name Amaryllis belladonna, the type species of the genus Amaryllis. At the time both South African and South American plants were placed in the same genus; subsequently they were separated into two different genera. The key question is whether Linnaeus's type was a South African plant or a South American plant. If the latter, Amaryllis would be the correct name for the genus Hippeastrum, and a different name would have to be used for the genus discussed here. Alan W. Meerow et al. have briefly summarized the debate, which took place from 1938 onwards and involved botanists on both sides of the Atlantic. The outcome was a decision by the 14th International Botanical Congress in 1987 that Amaryllis L. should be a conserved name (i.e. correct regardless of priority) and ultimately based on a specimen of the South African Amaryllis belladonna from the Clifford Herbarium at the British Museum.

I took this picture this morning (22nd June 2008). I think Alice is getting the babies this week!

Update: Alice gave birth to 4 kittens on July 6th 2008.

A slight update/revamp in the office.

New speakers, Edifier RT1700BTS, new audio interface, behringer UM2 which has really surprised me how good it is for the money as has my new mic, a BM800.

Other new additions to the office, a Raspberry Pi, 3 Pi 'cluster', the 5,1 Mac Pro is down from the loft running ProxMox with various work and home related VM's, its space in the loft has now been taken up by a Dell R710 setup basically as a NAS.

I also have a 2012 Mac Mini setup as a Plex server now hidden away in the unit on the right. Again for a fairly dated bit of kit, it performs really well.

I've also put some of my fountain pens and cameras out on a new shelf unit that I still need to stain.

The only thing I really want to replace now is the monitors. I want to replace them with a 49".

I may start using the Mac Pro for a daily machine with and push its services to the R710.

Had to update my girls.

Had to remove the two I sold. NO longer do I have an ebl Love Mission or a pullip. Guess I'm just a lover of RBLs.

After developing 30 rolls of B&W film, I am back to digital for color again.

These six will be in my upcoming dio I'm making for a LCN contest.

Any C&C I can do about these guys will be welcomed.

Progress being made on our 150+ year-old farmhouse in eastern Iowa: the kitchen is tiled, the painting is done, our retro refrigerator is sitting in a box, the new porch is wired, a magnolia tree nearly destroy in the derecho still blooms, central air is installed, two little chairs were found to be refurnished for two little grandkids, and some graffiti of when Mary was 2 3/4 years old was uncovered.

Update: Sold Caleb's head. Didn't end up selling his body and now have new plans for it! Made some pants for the poor naked body. He currently has no head so I cheated a little and stuck Emma's sleeping head on the body to try to some poses. They pose so well together! I have new plans for a migidoll head to go on this body, but I have to have money for that first haha.

Garden Update 20250625

Samsung Galaxy S10+

I haven't been updating recently. I've been pretty busy! I'm starting to take pictures for asking customers and what not. My confidence in my pictures is gradually growing, which is what I need right now. I'm getting to that comfort level with my photos with hopes of starting an "official small business" in the New Year.

Many more photos to come in 2011! I'll be hopefully getting a new camera for Christmas, so that will add to the flow of new photos. I'm heading to Greece and Italy in March and maybe Arizona in April. And in the summer I'll be spending three weeks in NYC at an SVA Pre-College program for Digital Photography! I'm looking forward to 2011, it's going to be a good year for my pictures and my future.

:)
