Well what you see here is many apartments in construction and a hotel. The one in the middle is mine and at the moment the highest residential building in the world. Sadly I am living in an apartment on the 70th floor. But otherwise Dubai is i=not a place for kids. And I have to wait two months for my lego collection due to the fact its being transported by boat as is most of our furniture. All I have is the new republic shuttle some clones and a new PAB. So I will not be contributing to flickr for while. Not that my creations are that good, and there is an eight hour time difference, but anyways...

As you can see I started the facade, I decided to go with a traditional facade.... of course that in here it doesn't look so traditional but thats how they do a lot forest cabins, and since this would be in a forest (in theory) It seemed appropriate.

Got a lot of work ahead of me... I even plan on making the furniture for it :p

PS: I know the photos suck.. dont worry its just a progress update.. i´ll make sure to do them right when i finish the whole thing :p

North Bristol NHS Trust celebrates the hard work, innovation and strentghs of its workforce at the Exceptional Healthcare Awards 2013.

This will be the third year we have held our Trust-wide staff awards to recognise and reward the outstanding work of our staff and volunteers.

The Exceptional Healthcare Awards recognise individuals and teams who go the extra mile for patients, the public and their colleagues.

There are 10 categories for example the Most Successful Service Improvement or the Patient Safety Champion.

North Bristol NHS Trust Chief Executive Marie-Noelle Orzel said: “The Exceptional Healthcare Awards are a tremendous way of recognising the outstanding work of our staff and volunteers, showing the Trust at its best.

“The awards highlight the numerous examples of exceptional care and innovation going on in our hospitals and community locations that make a huge difference to the lives of patients and staff.

“Well done to all our winners and to those who were shortlisted, and thank you once again to all who took the time to nominate.”

There were around 150 nominations and a panel which included staff and patient representatives decided on a shortlist.

The awards took place at St George’s, Bristol, on May 22 where the winners were announced at a ceremony hosted by BBC Radio Bristol’s Steve Le Fevre.

The event was once again funded by our generous corporate sponsors and charitable funds.

This also works well with cranberries!

[UPDATED RECIPE — Nov 2025]

I had to change up this recipe somewhat. I'd been using the same recipe for years, but for some reason my blueberry loafs were sinking in the middle.😐 I couldn't figure out why. I experimented in various ways trying to figure out the problem (increasing baking powder, adding more baking soda, lessening the amount of fruit, oil, — all to no avail). Eventually I did figure out the problem— the oven wasn't hot enough and I wasn't baking it long enough. Go figure— after all these years!

INGREDIENTS

------------------

1-½ cups + 1 tbsp all purpose, unbleached flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 cup plain (not Greek!) yogurt — I discovered low-fat sour cream also works well !

½ cup white, granulated sugar

2 large eggs, slightly beaten

2 tsp grated lemon peel

½ tsp pure vanilla extract

⅓ cup oil

¼ cup orange juice

1-½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries (I use frozen)

(for a variation, I like to subsitute ½ cup blueberries for ½ cup chopped cranberries)

PREPARATION

-------------------

Preheat oven to 375° degrees

Grease & flour a 9x5 loaf pan

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt

In a separate bowl, mix together yogurt, sugar, eggs, lemon peel, vanilla, oil & orange juice.

Slowly add the dry ingredients and fold in.

Toss the blueberries in 1 tbsp of flour, then gently add to batter mixture.

Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake 1-½ hours, or until a knife comes out clean.

Let loaf cool in the pan, before removing.

Sprinkle a little icing sugar over the top for decoration.

Makes 1 loaf, (or 3 mini loafs).

ORIGINAL RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS

------------------

1-½ cups + 1 tbsp all purpose, unbleached, all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

1 cup plain yogurt

1 cup white, granulated sugar

3 large eggs

2 tsp grated lemon peel

½ tsp pure vanilla extract

½ cup vegetable oil

1-½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries (I use frozen)

PREPARATION

-------------------

Preheat oven to 350° degrees

Grease & flour a 9x5 loaf pan

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt

In a separate bowl, mix together yogurt, sugar, eggs, lemon peel, vanilla & oil.

Slowly add the dry ingredients and fold in.

Toss the blueberries in 1 tbsp of flour, then gently add to batter mixture.

Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake 50 - 55 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.

Let loaf cool in the pan, before removing.

Sprinkle a little icing sugar over the top for decoration.

VARIATIONS:

-------------------

Subsitute chopped cranberries instead of blueberries, and add chopped walnuts or pumpkin seeds on top for garnish

An update on the trial of a "man" who killed his infant daughter. Links below to comments from Lexi's family and to the beginning of the trial. The newspaper is just about bigger than I can scan, but you can make out most of the story.

Best viewed LARGE.

Slowly, slowly getting there …

It was time for an update.
