Rode Amtrak out to Colorado for vacation to Glenwood Springs. Had a great family time, so chasing down trains was secondary, but I got a few good images. This is coal load C-WEB2-30 getting underway after adding his mid-train helpers at the Glenwood Springs yard right before sunset. The UP 8805 leads another on the head end, a trio of helpers mid-train and another on the rear. The wildfires and soot made the skies a little thick out there, and thus the orange glow as he heads east toward Glenwood Canyon on a beautiful summer evening.

I love this time of the year, I always have. I catch myself looking forward to the fall.I used to do a lot of hunting and the anticipation of opening day grows the closer it gets! Now that I have got into photography I catch myself looking forward to the fall for all the color change and a trip to the mountains to try and capture the beauty of the "fall" scene. I have been waiting for a nice sunset to capture this image. As soon as the farmer lined the bales of hay up like this I knew that I would have to return for a sunset shot. I was blessed with some cloud cover which created some wonderful rays of light and some nice color. I hope everyone has a great nights sleep!
Even though I went out of town this past weekend and now have two cameras full of photos to go through and edit, I felt the call of the birds and set aside a few hours after I got home to get some shots, to hopefully tide me over since the next few weeks are going to be extra busy.
These two little Sparrows showed up and were really cute. At one point something big must have flown overhead because they both looked up in the same direction at the same time. Since they kept on eating it must have been a false alarm.
Not as clear as I'd like but I thought they were just too cute.
I decided to re-shoot this scene as Jamieson Place is now completed.

Friday at last, and after a long week (month, year, etc) this is where the madness for me starts. Tonight, I’m off to Argentina. Then I’ll have a super busy work week before spending a few days relaxing and checking out Buenos Aires with a side trip to the Iguazu Falls. Then I fly home before heading off two days later for a week of photography in Jordan. I’m very much looking forward to it all…apart from the work aspect :)
BUT, you’re not here to read about all that, I’m sure. Instead you’re here to see my images and read about where they were taken and how they were processed…right?
What do you mean ‘no’?
Well in that case, this one was taken in Newcastle somewhere, and I processed it in black and white. So there.
Hope you have a great weekend, I’ll be back on Monday on the blog only (unless I find time to update elsewhere during my work week) with the first of many scheduled posts.

Close-up picture of the signalbox, which is to be seen on the left hand side in this picture of my Finsterwalde TT scale (1:120) diorama: flic.kr/p/Pk2Pqr
The building is a TT scale model Arnold (now a brand of Hornby) brought on the market in 2017. It's a resin model with a nice brick structure. Since the colour was too bright for a prototype located in the North-Eastern part of Germany, I had to repaint with the characteristical dark red brick colour.
For more information on this diorama, see www.joernpachl.de/model_rr_diorama_fiwa.htm

Early one morning the sun was shining
I was laying in bed
Wond'ring if she'd changed it all
If her hair was still red
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough
And I was standing on the side of the road
Rain falling on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues getting through
Tangled up in blue.
